The Supersprint 'Race' rear muffler system is one step beyond the standard Sport mufflers. Don't be fooled by the name - the 'Race' mufflers are designed for street use and the name only distinguishes it from the standard Sport system. With the stock system the sound is very subdued. With the 'Race' mufflers the sound is much more noticeable and more aggressive - a perfect sound to compliment the assertive nature of an M6. You will hear this exhaust but it will not be intrusive or sound out of place on a civilized sports/GT car like the M6. These Supersprint performance mufflers enhance the athletic side of the M6's personality. With a freer-flowing design there is more of that exhaust pop and rumble coming to the cabin, reminding you that this is a BMW Motorsport vehicle and not a luxury cruiser. The sport mufflers are more subdued than the race version with a great sound and no dramatic side effects. You hear the exhaust when you want to but it's composed and smooth when you don't want to advertise. A moderate increase in torque and horsepower from less restriction is a nice bonus. These rear mufflers are a perfect addition to the exhaust to make the 645ci and 650i a bit louder and let more of the V8 rumble be heard. The stock system uses two rear mufflers with an additional two sets of resonators to deeply muffle the sound. The Supersprint mufflers are free flowing stainless designs with less restriction which allows more volume and a modest increase in torque and horsepower. The mufflers are tuned to provide a deep, throaty exhaust note. For even greater volume and more power gains, opt for the full Supersprint system that deletes all of the resonators.
