The ZF 6HP19Z series transmission is a very durable and powerful unit that can last for many miles if serviced in time to allow the valve body to maintain proper fluid pressure. The slightest drop in valve body fluid pressure in this unit leads to premature transmission bushing and or clutch wear, along with contamination and overheating of the fluid. Rein recommends the OE or Pentosin ATF-1 synthetic automatic transmission fluid for this job.
