Whether you're building a track-only speed machine, show car, or ultra-serious street ride the seats can make an awesome upgrade. Aside from the obvious safety considerations with a seat, there are few upgrades that can have more of an impact in your driving experience. Sport or Race seats envelope and grip the driver's body, holding him/her in place even under extreme driving situations. When strapped into a seat with the appropriate harnesses you can become an integrated part of the car. Without the sliding around of stock seats you can have greater confidance and focus on the act of driving. In order to mount aftermarket seats in your car, you need a floor mount adapter. These high-quality aluminum adapters are made by Macht Schnell. These bolt to your existing seat mounting studs in the floor and offer the lowest profile of any floor mount (22mm height). This helps to keep your seat at the lowest position possible. Your seat adapters or sliders bolt to this adapter plate. These floor mounts are a matrix style with rows of threaded holes that allow you to find an ideal seat location. There are other options - including homemade - but these seat brackets for your BMW are the highest quality to match your expensive seats.

Sold per seat. Can be used on left or right sides of vehicle.

These adapters were originally designed for the E46 chassis. They can fit the E36 by modifying the mounting holes to match the bolt and stud locations on the E36 floor.

High quality steel constructed seat bracket made right here in the USA! ​The Planted Seat Bracket is a vehicle specific bracket used as an adapter between the floor of the vehicle and an aftermarket seat and it's accessories. Because the floor of each vehicle varies and typically is not flat, a vehicle specific Seat Bracket is required for installing an aftermarket seat. Planted creates each seat bracket using the floor of the vehicle as a reference. Each vehicle is brought into our development center so we can create the best fitting, bolt in, universal seat bracket possible. Planted Seat Brackets are laser cut from 3/16 inch thick steel and hand welded to ensure weld penetration for superior strength. Each bracket is pre-slotted with hole patterns to accept sliders from most major seat manufacturers like Braum, Bride*, Cipher Auto, Cobra**, Corbeau, Momo, NRG, OMP, Racetech, Recaro, Sabelt, Sparco, Status Racing, Takata and more. There is extra space on the bracket for drilling your own hole pattern if using a slider with a less common hole pattern, or direct mounting a seat or side mount when eliminating sliders is preferred. They are finished with a black powder coat. *Bride sliders are generally made to be vehicle specific so need to have the "feet" removed to make them "universal." Bride sliders typically require drilling a new hole pattern into the Planted Seat Bracket because they come in many different widths. **Cobra sliders come in Narrow and Wide versions. The Wide version will require elongating one hole on each slider by 1/8 Inch. The Narrow version requires no modification. Each Planted Seat Bracket goes through three levels of quality control to ensure our high standards are met. All Planted Seat Brackets are hand welded in Bellevue, WA, USA. Seats come in many different shapes and sizes so not all seats will fit in all vehicles. It is up to the end user to determine if the seat will fit prior to ordering the Seat Bracket and other components. Many vehicles have the steering wheel offset toward the center of the vehicle. This can be accentuated when installing an aftermarket seat of a different size then the factory seat. Replacing a factory seat with an aftermarket seat may cause the vehicle's warning indicators to activate. This can be due to airbag, weight and/or other sensors in the factory seat that are not included in an aftermarket seat. It may be possible to eliminate these indicators with an electronic resistor but it is up to the end user to determine if a resistor will work & which resistor to use. Professional installation is recommended.

Many racing series and event organizers are requiring 5 or 6-point harnesses in their events now. Attaching the anchor points to the seat base is a desired alternative to drilling holes in your floor and carpet*. This set includes the 6-point anchor to attach to the Macht Schnell floor mount as well as side attachments for either a bolt-in or snap-in harness.

* - note that most racing harness manufacturers will advise that drilling through the floor is the best method for mounting harnesses. This allows you to locate the mount in the ideal location and angle to fit your driving position. The proper installation is paramount to ensure the harness works correctly in an impact.
