Our sealed Monoball Rear Trailing Arm Bushings (RTAB) are the best solution for completely eliminating deflection and unwanted toe changes on the rear of the E36, E46, and Z4. While rubber and urethane bushings flex during load, the toe can change widely giving you nervous and unpredictable handling. These RTABs have a solid aluminum housing with a high-quality sealed OE bearing. These bushings were developed from years of competition use in various racing and HPDE events. There is simply no better RTAB unless your racing class rules prohibit the use of mono or spherical bearings.

The rear trailing arm bushings take a lot of abuse from acclerating, braking and cornering. The stock rubber bushings are just not up to the task of keeping rear wheel alignment in spec for very long, especially if you have upgraded to stickier tires and a better suspension. The pliable rubber flexes and twists which slows down reaction time and leaves you with a car that feels nervous and 'tail happy'. Urethane helps to control the alignment but issues with fitment, maintenance, and longevity keep us from recommending urethane on anything but a street car. We also offer a Delrin RTAB for cars that must conform to certain racing class rules. These sealed spherical bearings are the best at controlling rear toe alignment.

Our aluminum RTABs are very well made - high grade aluminum alloy and steel CNC'd out of a billet by an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer, each component is either hardcoated or nickel plated. While multiple manufacturers offer two piece designs, our research showed that a one piece bushing is a better design featuring a sealed bearing to keep contaminants out extending the life of the bearing.

Features:

Key Benefits:

  • Rear Trailing Arm Monoball eliminates unwanted deflection, maintaining alignment settings and minimizing wheel hop.
  • Allows full rear trailing arm articulation for low friction movement and eliminates binding found in rubber and poly bushings.

Made in the USA TMS rear subframe bearings are designed to limit rear control arm movement relative to the subframe. The stock BMW subframe bushings are made out of rubber, which allows variance in suspension position due to deformation and compression. A race car needs to have all suspension points remain in place for proper setup. By using high grade aircraft aluminum alloy and high performance race bearings, the TMS bushing replacements are both lightweight and strong. The casing is designed so that if maximum motion occurs, the load will be evenly distributed throughout the casing. Our flanges are designed to spread the load on the subframe and limit movement. The bearing we use is an extra wide race bearing to distribute the load over a broader area. Each piece is anodized or nickel plated to withstand corrosion. These bushings are a perfect compliment to the TMS lower camber arms.

Rear trailing arm bushings serve the key purpose of keeping rear suspension triangulated and the vehicle moving where it's directed to. Though failure prone, even factory-fresh OEM rubber bushings allow for deflection, causing suspension geometry changes on hard launches, over bumps in the road, and during cornering. This deflection results in clunking in the rear end, a “rear steer” feeling, and uneven tire wear.

Powerflex polyurethane rear trailing arm bushings are firmer than OEM bushings, resulting in a reduction of deflection that causes these suspension angle changes, improving handling over bumps and with a proper alignment, extending tire wear.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

Poweflex is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension bushings. Using state of the art design and manufacturing, all replacement bushings are engineered to out-perform and out-last the ones that came in the car. Each line of bushings is meticulously tested and then re-tested to ensure perfect fitment and enduring quality through the life of the vehicle. A full lifetime warranty backs every one of their products and demonstrates the level of confidence and commitment Powerflex has to their customers.

Our experience with spherical front control armball joints go back to those we designed and used in our IMSA E90 328i and E92 M3 racecars (GS class Champions in 2011).We wanted to offer e30, e36, and e46 owners similar levels of handling precision and control for the track and street, but werent satisfied with the other options out there. Instead of a Delrin bushing or unsealed spherical bearing alone, we selected an oversized sealed greaseable spherical monoball to offer unparalleled durability and precision, but designed a Delrin adapter sleeve to help isolate the added noise, vibration, and harshness that a full solid monoball bearing will have. While race-ready,our hybrid Delrin/monoball control arm bearings are more at home on the street than other kits that are advertised asrace-only bearings. We did extensive street, autocross, and track testing to ensure the spherical bearing used in this bushing design excelled in each setting.

The stock rubber bushings, eventhose found in the M3,allow significant fore/aft movement of the front wheels to help absorb road impacts, especially when being pushed hard. This soft flexible design maximizes daily driving comfort, but also allows considerable alignment change. This unwanted deflectionstands between you and a crisp, confidence-inspiring driving experience. The advantage of a monoball bearing is that it will not deflect under load, eliminating all unwanted deflection while still allowingcomplete freedom of movementin the desired angles. What you get is superior steering precision with better handling from more consistent alignmentand direct braking feedback, with exceptional service life. Thanks to theDelrin insert and double lip seals, there's none of the extra noise or reduced service lifeoftenfound onotherspherical bearings.

In short, if you're seeking front control arm bushings that offer precise, predictable handling, crisper braking feel, with a long service life free from noise - look no further. We have you covered.

Here at Turner we understand the importance of an upgrade that will get the results you need on the track and still be tolerable on the drive around town. When it comes to control arms on the track, making them as stiff as you can (usually using solid mounts) is the best way to increase your driving precision by eliminating the deflection of rubber. The next best thing to create a balance would be to stiffen up the control arm with polyurethane, giving you the option of a more stock like feel with 80a or closer to the solid feel with 95a durometers. These poly bushings will give your control arms a direct connection between your suspension and the body of the car eliminating the slop felt under take-off and braking so you feel more in control of your vehicle.

This item fits the following BMWs that use a centered-style bushing:

1999-2005 E46 BMW 323i 323ci 325i 325ci 328i 328ci 330i 330ci - not for xi models

Differential bushings are responsible for keeping the differential in solid alignment while dampening drivetrain vibration. While OE rubber bushings are fine when they are new from the factory, aged and worn out rubber bushings create a multitude of issues that can range from annoying to dangerous. As a factory bushing ages, it begins to harden and become brittle. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow for movement at the differential mounting point. At this point, the differential is free to shift under load causing a noticeable clunking noise under acceleration and deceleration and massively increasing the stress on the driveshaft and axles. Manual transmissions suffer the worst from this as it can make shifting difficult since the differential will shift when the clutch is engaged and disengaged.

By replacing these bushings with full polyurethane, the movement is eliminated since the mounting point is supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. This means less stress on the driveshaft and axles and greater longevity of supporting components.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Tasked with keeping the vehicles rear end firmly mounted while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber subframe bushings were engineered to provide a balance of control while keeping the ride quality soft and supple. As a factory bushings age, they become brittle and begin to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play, or movement in the subframe. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk or "thunking" noise under acceleration and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushings with full polyurethane this play is eliminated since the subframe is being held in place by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering and acceleration inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Sway bars transmit cornering forces from the outside wheels to the inside wheels, helping to keep the vehicle flat during cornering. This, in turn, reduces body roll and improves the driver's cornering confidence. OEM rubber sway bar bushings are designed with comfort in mind, allowing the sway bar to articulate while permitting additional movement, leading to less-than-ideal bar retention and causes unnecessary body roll.

Powerflex polyurethane sway bar bushings are firmer than factory rubber bushings, reducing body roll and keeping sway bars in check. Polyurethane bushings won't slop around like OEM bushings, allowing sway bars to function at their fullest potential.

Control arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

Condor's Offset Rear Trailing Arm Bushings (RTABs) are perfect for the street and the track. They're designed to help correct rear toe-in and toe-out issues on lowered cars. To correct for toe-in: RTABs can be installed with the thick side inboard to help push the rear trailing arms towards the outsides of the car. To correct for toe-out when running minimal camber setup: RTABs can be installed with the thin sides inboard to help push the trailing arms inwards. The amount of total adjustment is purely dependent on how low your car is, but we've seen toe adjustment from 1/8” out on each side to 1/8” in on each side, which is a super nice range for the e36 rear end! They use UHMW in all of their suspension bushings because it is self-lubricating, meaning it requires no grease when installing, has almost zero deflection yet also absorbs some vibration. It will outlast other types of rubber or urethane bushings. They include black oxide plated steel plates for each RTAB to prevent lateral movement between the bushing material and the aluminum. Polyurethane and rubber bushings will deflect and slide, causing your rear alignment settings to change mid-corner. With these bushings, you won't have to worry about dynamic changes in your toe settings; the rear alignment stays in check during hard cornering, braking, and acceleration. For BMW E46 and Z4 E85 & E86 owners looking to enhance the performance and handling of their vehicles, the Powerflex Black Series Front Control Arm - Rear Bushings with Brackets offer a valuable suspension upgrade. In this article, we'll explore the numerous advantages of integrating these high-quality bushings into your BMW, designed to optimize control and road-handling capabilities, ultimately taking your driving experience to the next level. Improved Handling and Stability: The BMW E46 and Z4 E85 & E86 models are already known for their impressive handling, and the Powerflex Front Control Arm - Rear Bushings with Brackets are engineered to enhance this feature. These bushings reduce sway and body roll during cornering, ensuring your vehicle remains stable and responsive, even when navigating tight turns and corners. This results in a more confident and enjoyable driving experience. Enhanced Cornering Performance: One of the primary benefits of these control arm bushings is their ability to optimize your vehicle's cornering performance. The Powerflex design provides increased rigidity, allowing for more precise and controlled cornering. Whether you're tackling winding mountain roads or maneuvering on a racetrack, you'll appreciate the improved grip and control these bushings provide. Mitigation of Understeer: Understeer, a common issue in many vehicles, occurs when the front tires lose grip during a turn. Upgrading to Powerflex Front Control Arm - Rear Bushings with Brackets helps address this issue by redistributing the load more evenly between the front and rear tires. This results in better balance and control, ensuring your BMW responds precisely to your commands in any situation. Durability and Longevity: These control arm bushings are constructed using high-quality materials, ensuring durability and a longer service life. They are engineered to withstand the rigors of daily driving and spirited performance, reducing wear and tear on your suspension components and extending the lifespan of your BMW's control arm system and related parts. The performance of the front suspension depends almost entirely on this one bushing. The BMW front control arm mounts to the chassis with this bushing at the back. If the original rubber has worn it will have a major impact on the alignment, steering, and braking. This is why race teams like ours ditch the factory rubber and put something more solid in its place. The car will be more responsive due to less deflection and the bushing will last longer (virtually no wear). These Delrin bushings use an aluminum sleeve and are nearly solid to conform to many racing series rules, including SpecE46 and the Grand Am Cup series that we won back-to-back championships in.

These bushings require the 60mm bushing brackets (housings) from the E46 M3 or very early E46 models.

While OEM Front Control Arm Bushings with a 60 mm size are suitable for everyday driving, they don't match up with the performance of the PowerFlex Black Series bushing. OEM bushings are designed for everyday comfort, have potential alignment issues, are less responsive than aftermarket, and have a shorter lifespan. As for aftermarket performance polyurethane bushings, you will get the handling you're looking for if you are an enthusiast daily driver or one who hits the tracks on the weekend. Enjoy the benefits for your E46 or Z4 with: Enhanced Stability Improved Handling Reduced Vibration Better Road Feel Longer Lifespan Improved Alignment OE / OEM Cross Reference Numbers: 31126783376 / 31126777850 / 31126757623 Fits these E46 models: 323ci, 323i, 325Ci, 325i, 328Ci, 328i, 330Ci, 330i Fits these E85 Z4 models: 2.5i, 3.0i, 3.0si
