Having a closed/recirculated design reduces oil ingestion and promotes cleaner emissions and odor-less operation.

The oxygen sensor is vital to the performance and drivability of your car. The engine computer relies on data from the sensor to make adjustments in engine efficiency and performance. When your BMW oxygen sensor fails, the computer can no longer sense the air/fuel ratio, so it ends up guessing -- resulting in poor performance, poor gas mileage, and increased pollution. Make sure your BMW engine performs as it should, and doesn't use more fuel than it needs to, by simply changing your oxygen sensor today. There is no lifespan on O2 sensors but there are several fault codes that indicate a failed sensor (O2 monitoring, cat efficiency, O2 heating circuit, O2 readiness, and others). The O2 sensor is heated and has a self-calibration feature so once you get the codes or feel performance has suffered, a new sensor is a good starting point to get you back to peak performance. Bosch's Oxygen sensors are high quality and will give you the the longest and best performance for the price.

A frustration too many BMW owners share is the inability to physically check the oil level. BMW began replacing traditional style dipsticks with new level sensors that display your oil level on your iDrive system. In theory, this could be great. An electrical, sensor-based oil level system would allow for continuous monitoring of the oil level and immediate warning in the event of oil loss. The main problem with this updated system is the sensors themselves and the sub-par electronics that control and report this information to the iDrive system. In practice, the oil level sensors have proven to be slow, inaccurate, and even faulty, displaying wildly inaccurate measurements. Needless to say, the team over at Bimmerworld felt this needed to be addressed with something a little more reliable. Rogue Engineering has developed a power pulley kit that reduces the drag on specific pulleys while allowing others to remain at their same efficiency. This allows for perfect operation in daily driven vehicles without a hiccup or stutter. However, when the demand for power is requested, the power pulley kit allows for the freed power to become apparent. The term "power" pulley is a bit of a misnomer. Underdrive pulleys actually free up power by reducing the drag caused by the accessories. These pulleys are based off a calculated percentage from factory dimensions, so that particular component speeds are safely reduced without affecting their true purpose.

This comprehensive kit includes both belts, belt tensioners, upper and lower deflection pulleys, and the adjusting pulley. Select from all Genuine BMW parts or a combination of OEM/OE BMW parts. Staying on top of your belt maintenance is the smart move. Cracked or worn belts are a recipe for a headache or worse. The main drive belt runs critical components - the alternator, water pump, and power steering pump. The pulleys contain bearings that may be worn when it comes time to replace the belts. You can check the pulleys by relieving tension on the belt and feeling each pulley for play or grinding. The tensioner also sees similar wear. If your pulleys are new or don't need replacement, you can pick up the belts on their own.
