Now available in a 5L jug, The BMW 5W30 motor oil is the factory engine oil approved for almost all BMW engines, except for BMW Diesel and some M3/M5/M6 engines. It's the first oil approved in the US for BMW's turbo N20 N54 N55 engines, including the S55 engine in the 2015+ F80 M3/F82 M4. This oil can also be used in E39 M5 and Z8 with the S62 engine, per the label inside the engine compartment. It can also be used in most MINI engines.
This oil was especially formulated for the USA market to meet compatibility requirements with the high sulfer content in our fuels. It meets BMW LL01 and API SL specs for gasoline engines from 1997 up through today as well as ACEA A3/B3 requirements. This is the current oil used in BMW dealerships.
In January 2015 BMW changed official oil suppliers from Castrol to Shell. The new oils are designed to meet requirements of both the newer engines as well as older BMWs. This oil can be used in cars with either normally aspirated and or turbocharged engines.

Knock down the roadblocks preventing you from performing regular maintenance on your BMW. On the E9x and E8x chassis you run into issues with changing the rear spark plugs and coil packs. A job that should take approximately an hour or so ends up taking significantly longer because you have to remove the cowl and all associated screws. Most of the time the screws end up missing or dropped into your engine bay which can be a headache and you have to order new hardware or deal with the cowl being incorrectly fastened.
Cowl delete filters are a great addition to your E9x or E8x chassis; these filters allow you to get rid of clutter in the engine bay which adds benefits like weight reduction, improved air flow in the engine bay, more room for working on the engine and an overall cleaner engine bay appearance. We all know it is important to keep up on engine maintenance to keep your BMW running at peak performance and prevent larger future issues. BMW's newest TwinPower Turbo engine oil is LL01 FE+ certified. It meets BMW's standards for LongLife 2001 ("LL01") and improved fuel economy ("FE+"). The new 0W30 replaces the previous 5W30 oil used in some 4-cylinder, 6-cylinder, and V8 BMW models. As of December 2015, BMW has not backdated the 0W30 for any other engines but the LL01 rating might indicate it will be the new approved oil for most engines (and replace #83212365946 5W30 oil).

Ignition coils are key to the efficiency and performance of your BMW. With a faulty coil the spark plug is not burning the air/fuel mixture properly and that can lead to problems anywhere in the engine and exhaust (including catalytic converters and O2 sensors). Problems with one or more coils will cause a fault code but not always a check engine light. A misfire code may be related to an ignition coil but could be from other things as well. Sometimes a visual inspection of a coil and coil boot will give an indication of a failure. You can also move coils around to different cylinder banks to see if the misfire code follows a suspect coil. We suggest always having one or two coils on hand to keep as spares.

The N54 suffers from a weak point in its crankshaft. It has been reported that when increasing the power to the engine, the crank hub can move or spin slightly under an extreme load. This is most apparent under high-rev downshifts or in the case of increased boost pressure which creates more stress on the engines rotating assembly. In order to keep this from happening, the crank bolt must be secured to the hub to keep it from backing off, but this can be a tricky solution since a simple dab of Loctite will not suffice.
Here is an easy, and cost-effective way to secure the situation; The VTT N54 crank bolt capture. This lightweight and durable ring slips over the head of the crank bolt fully encapsulating it, and locks it to the crank hub and eliminating its ability to spin. The VTT-CBC is 100% Billet Aircraft Grade Aluminum, Anodized black to protect it from the elements, and give it a stealth look. What's more is that it weighs only 1.3 Oz's meaning you aren't adding excess mass to the crankshaft which will avoid any imbalance or vibration issues.
While this is not a full fix for all crank hub spinning issues, the engineers at Vargas have found most issues have stemmed from the bolt itself backing out, and this is a great way to keep that from happening. Extremely lightweight at only 1.3 Oz's it adds virtually no weight to the crank which is important for balance and vibration.
Poor idle, low fuel efficiency, and engine misfire codes are all symptoms of worn spark plugs. Replace yours with quality aftermarket parts to get your engine running as well as possible.
This new funnel is specifically designed to attach to the valve cover preventing oil spills. The 1/4 turn base locks securely in place and alleviates the issue other funnels have impacting the internal baffle of the cylinder head. It has a plastic base and a plastic body.

This is the sensor / sending unit that notifies the computer if your coolant level is low. When this fails, it can give a false indication of low coolant -- or worse, not inform you of a low coolant situation which could potential cause overheating. (Note: This sensor is also found in the windshield washer container, to alert the computer when you are low on washer fluid)

The BMW 5W30 motor oil is the factory engine oil approved for almost all BMW engines, except for BMW Diesel and some M3/M5/M6 engines. It's the first oil approved in the US for BMW's turbo N20 N54 N55 engines, including the S55 engine in the 2015+ F80 M3/F82 M4. This oil can also be used in E39 M5 and Z8 with the S62 engine, per the label inside the engine compartment. It can also be used in most MINI engines. Replaces the previous part number of 07510017866 (07-51-0-017-866).
This oil was especially formulated for the USA market to meet compatibility requirements with the high sulfer content in our fuels. It meets BMW LL01 and API SL specs for gasoline engines from 1997 up through today as well as ACEA A3/B3 requirements. This is the current oil used in BMW dealerships.
In January 2015 BMW changed official oil suppliers from Castrol to Shell. The new oils are designed to meet requirements of both the newer engines as well as older BMWs. This oil can be used in cars with either normally aspirated and or turbocharged engines.
Beginning with July 2015 production, new models came with 0W20 or 0W30 BMW oil. However, BMW dealerships continued to sell 5W30 until that stock was depleted. The 5W30 is an acceptable alternative to the 0W20 and 0W30 BMW oil per BMW's service bulletin. Show More Show Less
