The intake boot is a regular issue especially for BMW's, nearly all vehicles have a boot manufactured from rubber with an accordion section in the design for flexibility. This flexible section is typically where the failure comes from, leading to vacuum leak engine codes, rough idle, and increase fuel consumption.

Our engineers took it upon themselves to design a prettier, cost effective Carbon Fiber Intake Plenum for S65 owners to compliment our E9x Carbon Fiber Intake System while retaining OEM features. Our S65 Carbon Intake Plenum is no different. Our Carbon Fiber Intakes start with a 3D scan of the factory intake and engine bay. Our Engineers use these 3D images of the chassis to design the intake plenum in SolidWorks modeling software. Using a Flow Bench, the Intake Plenum is then airflow tested against the factory intake, to ensure optimal airflow improvement against stock. The final product is a beautiful and functional Carbon Fiber Intake Plenum, CAD designed for perfect integration with the OEM inlet ducting and stock mounting locations. Our Carbon fiber Intake trumpets flow an average of 13 CFM over the stock BMW intake.

Our E9X M3 S65 Carbon Fiber Intake Plenum is made from 100% high grade prepreg 2x2 twill weave carbon including the internal trumpets, this plenum replaces the OEM plastic plenum allowing the naturally aspirated BMW V8 engine to generate more inductions sounds taking the driving experience of the M3 to a whole new level. The raw V8 rumble gives the M3 an almost CSL like sound and is truly an intoxicating experience. We went through several iterations using different carbon thicknesses to fine tune the sound and the resulting plenum generates an almost unbelievable induction volume and tone.

High flow filter replacement to get your engine breathing better than new!

Oiled versus Dry Filters:

Although both options will keep the air to your engine clean and improve airflow, there are a few differences to consider when choosing the best filter for you. Oiled filters do allow slightly better airflow than dry filters, however they require more maintenance. Oiled filters will likely get dirty faster, needing to be cleaned more regularly. When cleaning an oiled filter, it is necessary to oil them with filter oil afterwards. This filter will save you money by no longer needing to replace a paper filter.

Dry filters offer slightly lower airflow but are easier to maintain while still out performing the OE paper filter. Dry filters can be washed with warm soapy water. There is no oiling necessary afterwards.

All of the tuning in the world is only as good as the weakest link. More boost in your 135/335 is great! But you will soon learn that some of the factory hardware is not up to the task of handling that extra pressure. One of the first things to fail and cause a boost leak are the factory boost diverter valves. This allows boost to "leak" out of the intake stream and a loss of power from the engine. This ECS Tuning chargepipe upgrade includes a blow-off valve in place of the factory diverter valves. The BOV is higher quality than the diverter valves and will exit intake air to the outside instead of putting it back through the turbo system (which will reduce strain on the turbos). This aluminum chargepipe is also much more robust than the stock plastic factory pipe and the connection to the throttle body is stronger, eliminating another failure point of the stock pipe.

Built-in 1/8" NPT ports allow you to run an additional methanol injection kit (bungs included if you don't want use the ports).

The stock diverter valves (DV) are plastic and connect with more plastic into the chargepipe and turbo inlet pipes. The plastic can become brittle and crack even on stock engines and leak boost, which leads to a loss in power and performance.

Turbosmart has developed two kits to replace and upgrade the stock diverter valves - a direct replacement kit and a combination DV/BOV "Dual Port" kit (shown). This Dual Port Kit is a DV and a BOV together in one unit. An internal valve directs some of the charged air into the turbo inlets and the rest is dumped into the engine bay like a traditional BOV. The amount of boost released into the air is determined by an internal spring in the Dual Port unit (additional springs are also available). This allows you to custom tailor how much boost and BOV "whoosh" you hear. In addition to the DV/BOV combo, stronger silicone hose is included to connect them to the turbo inlet pipes (Vargas silicone inlets are recommended).
