The M3 control arm upgrade is for people who want a very serious change in the ride/handling of the car. These are the factory OEM E9X M3 upper control arms, so the ride will not be much different than a standard M3. But it is a very large jump compared to the stock E9X arms and bushings, since they are not fluid-filled and have a harder rubber compound than the stock or Meyle HD bushings. These are direct replacements for the original arms, do not require any modification to install, and will add about .75 degrees of negative camber to the front for improved handling and tire wear

These M3 rear guide rod arms are an upgrade for the non-M cars. The stock non-M arms are made from sheetmetal spot welded together at the ends. The arm tends to flex and bend under even moderate cornering loads. Factor in gripper tires and more torque and this arm is inadequate for stability and consistent handling. The M3 arms are one piece of aluminum offering greater strength and with a sealed monoball inner bushing that allows the arm to rotate (instead of twisting).

This right/passenger's front upper control arm - also know as a tension strut or thrust arm. This is the control arm with the outer ball joint pointing down.
