Drive By Wire BMWs with electronic throttle bodies suffer from a throttle delay that robs acceleration potential. The Sprint Booster for 2001 model years and newer improves throttle response and provides a more direct feel, making the car more predictable and enjoyable.

The X-Pedal Pro Black Edition Throttle Controller from Injen is a plug-in module that requires less than 5 minutes to install. It controls the throttle signals going into your stock ECU so that your vehicle instantly responds faster and accelerates quicker or slower and more economically depending on the selected setting! The harness plugs directly into the OE connector behind the accelerator pedal to pull 5V power and manipulate the signals going to the ECU. Installation requires no splicing or cutting of any wires and does not interfere with other onboard systems, such as electronic injection or ABS brakes systems. With 9 levels of sport mode for improved throttle response and 7 levels of ECO mode for improved efficiency, you’ll find the perfect setting to match your driving style and performance needs.

When BMW began using the "Drive-by-wire" throttle system in 2001, a lot of people cringed. The Drive-by-wire system uses electronics to replace the mechanical cable throttle of the past. This means the electronics between the accelerator pedal and motorized throttle must interpret what your right foot does, and ultimately decides how the engine will respond. Although advanced in it's technology and engineering, many of us agree that the Drive-by-Wire equipped BMWs feel unresponsive and lack the crisp, sharp throttle response that older BMWs had with a traditional throttle cable. That's where the Sprint Booster comes in.
