Apex ARC8 18x9.5" Square Wheel Set
If you're tracking your BMW you should absolutely have stickier rubber on wider wheels. Most BMWs have a staggered wheel set with a narrow front wheel that results in understeer. Adding a wider wheel will get you more rubber where it counts - reducing understeer and improving initial turn-in. Square wheel sets of the same size and offset also allow you to rotate tires around to get the most life out of pricey track tires. We have put this wheel set together using four APEX 9.5" wheels in a ET22 offset. A 9.5" wheel allows for 265-285 performance or R-comp tires.
APEX light alloy wheels are the next evolution in flow-forged wheel technology for BMWs. Flow-forming is a semi-forging process that produces a wheel typically stronger than a traditional cast wheel yet is still light weight. The wheels are around 10lbs lighter per wheel than a comparable factory wheel! That's reduced unsprung weight that improves all aspects of performance. The spokes and barrel have been designed to allow generous clearance for big brakes. In other words, these wheels are very impressively engineered and look great too! APEX ARC-8 19" Staggered Wheel Set -- 19x8.5" / 19x9.5"
This set of 8.5" and 9.5" ARC-8 wheels is an easy staggered fitment for the non-M E90/E92 models. These are a direct fit with no spacers or fender rolling required. We use an 8.5" ET35 on the front and a 9.5" ET33 on the rear. The rear wheels have a deeper concave face than the fronts, emphasizing the RWD chassis and adding some muscularity to the stance.
