The oxygen sensor is part of your BMW's emissions control system and feeds data to BMW engine management computer. The oxygen sensor is positioned in the exhaust pipe and can detect rich and lean mixtures. The goal of the oxygen sensor is to help the engine run as efficiently as possible and also to produce as few emissions as possible. When your BMW oxygen sensor fails, the computer can no longer sense the air/fuel ratio, so it ends up guessing -- resulting in poor performance, poor gas mileage, and increased pollution. Placing resonators after cat-less downpipes will help tune the sound from the S63TU engine. By removing the factory catted downpipes you're removing a large sound muffler as well and adding resonators can help tone down the open exhaust. This Supersprint resonator is for the left side of section 1 of the exhaust. It is full stainless steel with a mandrel bent pipe for optimized exhaust flow. The Supersprint resonator has been tuned to work with the rest of their exhaust.

This center x-pipe fits between the Supersprint section 1 and section 2 pieces. Having an x-pipe equalizes and balances the exhaust gases coming from both banks of cylinders. It helps make the exhaust flow more efficient. The stock exhaust doesn't have this which makes this piece a nice added feature to your Supersprint system. Requries adapter sleeve listed below.
