APEX light alloy wheels are the next evolution in flow-forged wheel technology for BMWs. Flow-forming is a semi-forging process that produces a wheel typically stronger than a traditional cast wheel yet is still light weight. The wheels are around 10lbs lighter per wheel than a comparable factory wheel! That's reduced unsprung weight that improves all aspects of performance. The spokes and barrel have been designed to allow generous clearance for big brakes. In other words, these wheels are very impressively engineered and look great too! The design is based on classic motorsport themes that blend with BMW styling and appearance. These wheels look right at home on many BMW models. All APEX wheels are the BMW standard 5/120 bolt pattern and with a 72.6mm center bore. They are a direct fit to most any 1-series (E82), 3-series (E36, E46, E90, E92, F30), Z3, and Z4-series BMWs. The original BMW center cap, TPMS sensors, and original lug bolts are all carried over from your original wheels (wheel bolts may vary if spacers are used). They come in a wide variety of diameter, width, and offset combinations which gives you multiple fitment and application opportunities. For street use we generally recommend a staggered setup with a rear wheel slightly wider than the front. H&R manufacturers their spacers from a super lightweight aluminum/magnesium alloy for excellent strength and also to save unsprung weight. The spacers are drilled for additional lightness and easy fitment. They are then hard anodized for durability. These are not low quality universal spacers - the bolt pattern, hub sizing, and other dimensions are designed to be used on BMW models only.

This spacer slips on the existing hub lip and includes a new lip for the wheel to rest on. 10mm spacers are considered a custom fitment and special consideration must be given to ensure the spacer is fully seated on the lip (and not bottoming out on the stock hub lip). Modification of the stock hub lip may be required.

All APEX wheels are the BMW standard 5/120 bolt pattern and with a 72.6mm center bore. They are a direct fit to most any 1-series (E82), 3-series (E36, E46, E90, E92, F30), Z3, and Z4-series BMWs. The original BMW center cap, TPMS sensors, and original lug bolts are all carried over from your original wheels (wheel bolts may vary if spacers are used). They come in a wide variety of diameter, width, and offset combinations which gives you multiple fitment and application opportunities. For street use we generally recommend a staggered setup with a rear wheel slightly wider than the front. For track and racing applications a square setup is desired with the same width in the front and rear. Wheel offsets may also vary based on the clearances and stance you wish to achieve. This spacer slips on the existing hub lip and leaves some lip left over for the wheel to rest on. This keeps the wheel hubcentric*.
* - To avoid vibration, 3mm spacers work best with wheels that have a flush mounting surface. Wheels that have a bevel around the mounting surface will not be fully seated on the hub and a vibration may result.

Longer wheel bolts are strongly recommended. Choose from black or silver bolts from the options below. Wheel locks to work with this spacer size are also available.

The reality is that most enthusiasts and racers benefit far more from increased strength than they would from a small decrease in weight. The VS-5RE and the Enduro line as a whole was introduced to give the enthusiast community the choice to choose what's best for their application. In our pursuit of absolute strength, the Forged VS-5RE was given dramatically thicker spokes, our thickest ever Enduro Spec inner lip, and a substantially reinforced outer lip. When all put together, the VS-5RE is rated at an impressive 2100 lb max load. A major increase over its Sprint Line counterpart sitting at a 1600 lb load rating. To achieve this level of strength, our engineers added a considerable amount of material to the areas where it matters most. This does come with a bit of a weight penalty, however a host of weight saving measures have been implemented to minimize its effect. Deep spoke scalloping is utilized to shave material from the sides of spokes without compromising strength. Outer lip pocketing, a feature only seen on the Enduro Line within the Apex catalog, does away with excess material on the outer lip between each spoke. Our aim is for the Enduro VS-5RE to become the wheel of choice for anyone who appreciates the benefit of strength and stiffness over small weight savings. One must ask themselves how much faster will they truly be by dropping a few pounds of rotating mass and is it worth the trade off of losing confidence that your wheels will hold up lap after lap. Wheels lacking in stiffness flex under load, leading to lost camber during demanding cornering. Ultra lightweight wheels look great on paper, but they could cost you in the form of a lost podium or high cost of replacement. Whether you’re a hardcore racer or an enthusiast who appreciates great engineering, the VS-5RE is the answer.
