This is the OEM Bosch oxygen sensor for BMW's with the N20 and N26 motors. This sensor is mounted in the catalytic converter in the rear most position. OEM replacement for BMW # 11787589122.

One of the complaints about turbocharged engines is that they are too quiet. Even on a high-performance model like the M-tuned 235i there is only so much the factory will do to make a sport exhaust. If you're looking for a little more pop and snarl from your exhaust, the Supersprint straight pipe and performance muffler will be a good choice. This pipe deletes the resonator ahead of the rear muffler and must be used with the Supersprint muffler.

Factory BMW exhausts are a compromise - give enough sporty sound to please enthusiasts but not so much that regular buyers are turned off. The goal of the oxygen sensor is to help the engine run as efficiently as possible and also to produce as few emissions as possible. When your BMW oxygen sensor fails, the computer can no longer sense the air/fuel ratio, so it ends up guessing -- resulting in poor performance, poor gas mileage, and increased pollution.
