In BMW's with the N55, the intake system is partially limited. The bottom portion is lightweight and great for feeding cold air to the intake, but the top portion is excessively restrictive. Working with some of the original equipment, this intake continues to utilize the bottom portion of OE ducting and heat shielding, but replaces the top with new high flow ducting and a performance filter. Extensive testing showed up to a 10+ HP gain to the wheels and allows for quicker turbo spool speed. Plus, this design gives you a great sound improvement, letting you hear both the intake and turbo spooling!

Installation and removal is extremely quick and easy, taking only 5 minutes in the driveway!

Features:

  • Adds up to 10+ Horsepower
  • Dramatic sound improvement
  • Super fast install and removal
  • Improves throttle response
  • Retains OEM airbox base as a heat shield
  • Retains OEM cold air ducting
  • Looks great under the hood
  • Cleanable and reusable filter
  • Made in the USA

The kit includes a new aluminum intake tube with CNC machined MAP sensor mount, precision cut heat shield with mounting tabs, and a new high flow air filter. The MAP sensor mount has been CNC machined out of 6061 aluminum to retain the factory fitment for proper readings. It is than TIG welded to the aluminum intake tube for proper placement. The main part of the intake is the high flow air filter. It features an inlet on the end cap to allow for an even larger volume of air to come through than a standard cone filter. The design improves air filtration while increasing air flow. The air filter is finished off with the VR logo on the rubber end cap. The heat shield is water jetted from aluminum with rubber trim to provide a secure fit and seal when the hood closes. It is designed to prevent direct hot air from the engine being sucked into the filter.

VTT is proud to announce another product in their carbon fiber product line. The BMW F-Series B58 Carbon fiber intake system! They COMPLETELY do away with the entire factory intake tract, including the accordion hose, the turbo muffler, and all of the restrictive bends. They then replaced it with a smooth radius 2.5"-4" Silicone intake pipe with wire impregnated to ensure strength and longevity. This is coupled with their billet intake connection for an OEM-like fit, and finish. VTT then created a 100% carbon factory-style intake top and coupled it with their stock-style high-flow cotton pre-oiled filters. These tops are 8 layers of 100% carbon, not a single layer wrapped over plastic and they are 1.3MM thick with the VTT logo vacuum printed onto the tops with a UV resistant gloss clear coating. This is not only strong but will resist discoloration for an extended period of time. The filters themselves are made with a heat-resistant silicone base, a high-flowing cotton weave element with a pre-oiled design to catch contaminates but allow free flow. Features: 50 States Emissions Legal (Carbon fiber kit only. The Cone filter kit is legal for racing use only in California. Always follow all local emissions rules) Easy to install in 15-30 minutes even for a novice A Beautiful Carbon Fiber finish really adds class to the B58 engine bay Filters can be cleaned forever meaning never buy new filters Completely removes the restrictive stock intake pipe, NOT only the turbo muffler elbow Completely reversible if you ever want to remove
