Under certain conditions, the N55 crank hub likes to spin, without warning and even when the engine is in perfect health. The engineers at Vargas saw and dealt with this problem time and again, and they saw fit to do something about it. This hub uses a proprietary "Spline Lock" technology that uses high tolerance machined splines which press into the crank, and positively lock the hub to the crank. The splines are machined in such a way that rotational forces drive the hub, and splines deeper into the crank meaning when the hub encounters a situation that would normally slip a stock hub the splined hub is driven into the crank to keep it in place (much like a splined extractor). It is a well-known issue on the BMW N54/55 platforms that your serpentine belt can fail for various reasons. When this happens, there is a high chance of the belt getting sucked behind the front damper pulley and then being pushed past the crank seal into your oil pan. From there it can get sucked into the oil pick up causing total engine failure. Even if you do not lose the engine, it is a COSTLY repair to remove the sub-frame and drop the oil pan to remove the belt. The best way to combat this is to watch for oil leaks and keep up on your maintenance. BUT, even with those preventative measures, pre-mature belt failure can occur. This crank seal guard installs over your front crank seal and will keep the belt from being sucked in if a belt failure does occur. This is a cheap way to ensure you do not end up having to replace your motor from oil starvation due to an ingested belt. Vargas' seal is different from those already on market in two major ways. Firstly, it is not offensively priced. Secondly, it is 100% billet with no welds on the tabs to break, no cheap bent thin steel pieces. 100% Billet 6061-T6 aluminum, anodized black for long-term corrosion resistance. Crank Seal Guard includes: One VTT Billet N54/55 Crank Seal Guard Two extended 12.9 Grade bolts, and two stainless washers We highly recommend you install WITH a crank bolt capture at the same time, as you have to remove the damper anyway. Then you will get the benefit of helping eliminate the dreaded spun crank hub and the crank seal issue

12.5MM (.49 inch) Big Pad Wheel Spacers for BMW E70 X5M, E71 X6/X6M, F02, F06, F07, F10, F12/F13, F22, F25, F3X, F8X M3/M4 These are our Big Pad wheel spacers designed for the latest generation of factory BMW wheels. The "wheel pad" is the back of the wheel that mounts to the hub on the car. Since the early 2000s the factory BMW wheel pad diameter has grown - 150mm, 152mm, 154mm, and now 156mm. Most of the wheel spacers on the market are 152mm. The difference from using the smaller spacer on a large pad will leave an unsightly step down between the back of the wheel and the brake rotor hat (see image). To fix this visual defect we use a larger diameter spacer - the Big Pad. This will have less of a step, or no step at all, when used with the larger pad size. Note that nearly all aftermarket wheel manufacturers use the smaller pad size (mainly to reduce unsprung weight). Wheel spacers are the ideal solution to resolve a number of fitment and aesthetic problems. A spacer fits between the wheel and the hub assembly. The wheel will be pushed further outboard by the thickness of the spacer. Spacers allow you to correct wheel offset issues when the wheel is too 'tucked in' to the bodywork, clear the wheel from contact with the suspension or inner bodywork, clear larger brakes, improve handling and stability by increasing track width, or simply to get the right look and stance. Our wheel spacers are compatible with almost any type of BMW wheel and are a direct fit to the wheel hub (see below for any fitment notes). Longer wheel bolts or wheel studs are required. This latest generation of the Turner Motorsport Wheel Spacers represent a total redesign of the wheel spacer concept - a ground-up, clean sheet design based on our years of BMW service and motorsports. The F8x M3/M4 models are simply amazing to drive, don't let road debris keep you from enjoying the moment. These cars have so much packed under the hood to get you this experience that it causes the oil cooler to be placed face down to the road. This makes the cooler an easy target for impact since the stock belly pan is designed from flexible plastic material. We've seen stories from small branches, scrap pieces that fell from trucks to large ice chunks that impact the cooler immediately draining the car of its oil. If you don't catch this right away this could cause serious internal engine damage from oil starvation. Turner's in-house engineering team designed a skid plate to protect your oil cooler from these unfortunate situations and still maintain a stock-like architecture. The idea was to design something much stronger that still keeps the weight to a minimum, using 8 GA 5052 Aluminum covered their goal coming in at only 5 lbs. Since the Turner skid plate weighs only 3 lbs more than the plastic OE piece, this makes the Turner plate the lightest metal option on the market. This skid plate requires no modification and mounts using the existing factory hardware the OE belly pan was fastened with. Using a trim seal to press against the oil cooler allows the airflow to pull heat from the cooler like a vacuum the same way the OE belly pan was designed. Under certain conditions, the N55 crank hub likes to spin, without warning and even when the engine is in perfect health. The engineers at Vargas saw and dealt with this problem time and again, and they saw fit to do something about it. This hub uses a proprietary "Spline Lock" technology that uses high tolerance machined splines which press into the crank, and positively lock the hub to the crank. The splines are machined in such a way that rotational forces drive the hub, and splines deeper into the crank meaning when the hub encounters a situation that would normally slip a stock hub the splined hub is driven into the crank to keep it in place (much like a splined extractor). This cap does away with the weak plastic cap and the need for a special tool for removal, while adding some pop and color to your engine bay. These oil filter housing caps retain ALL of the factory provisions for the filter basket, including the lower pins which are important for the proper function of pressure bypass, etc. They also have cooling fins to help with oil temps. Vargas Turbo designed these caps to complement their N5X Billet Oil caps and N5X Billet Power Steering caps so that all 3 will have the same design. Under certain conditions, the N55 crank hub likes to spin, without warning and even when the engine is in perfect health. The engineers at Vargas saw and dealt with this problem time and again, and they saw fit to do something about it. This hub uses a proprietary "Spline Lock" technology that uses high tolerance machined splines which press into the crank, and positively lock the hub to the crank. The splines are machined in such a way that rotational forces drive the hub, and splines deeper into the crank meaning when the hub encounters a situation that would normally slip a stock hub the splined hub is driven into the crank to keep it in place (much like a splined extractor). Features: Installs the same as a stock hub Does NOT require the crank to be drilled for pins Manufactured from Harndered 17-4SS We suggest the Crank Hub System ONLY be installed by a qualified shop or technician. Timing tools are 100% REQUIRED if installed improperly engine damage may occur. BMW has a seemingly endless number of fans of the N54/N55/S55 engines, three straight-six turbo engines that are each capable of 750+ horsepower, but that doesn't mean they were without their faults! BMW's N54 had a notoriously rocky start with reliability due to multiple issues such as fuel injectors failing, turbos failing, serpentine belt failure, crank hubs coming loose, and more... BMW made multiple attempts to fix the issues plaguing the N54, but they could only do so much and the fixes rolled out seemed temporary at best. Following the N54, BMW released their updated N55 and S55 engines, giving many people hope that these engines would address the previous issues. Unfortunately, this was only some-what the case. Crank hubs and crank bolts continued to loosen over time and serpentine belts continued to shred themselves and get pulled into the oil pan through the front main seal. For all three engines, this meant a single failure could effectively turn your engine into an oversized paperweight. Luckily for us, the BMW community is full of skilled enthusiasts who have gladly taken up the task to offer solutions! The first headache to be addressed was the Crank Hub and Bolt. Using a simple plate that fits perfectly over your crank hub's hex-head bolt and mounts up against the damper, the crank bolt is effectively locked in place, preventing it from being able to back out until the plate is fully removed. Next up was the serpentine belt failures. It's not known what exactly causes the serpentine belt to split, but once it does, the pieces hanging off of the belt wrap around and behind the damper. This leads to the belt breaking up into smaller pieces and eventually getting pushed between the crank hub and rear main seal into the oil pan. These small pieces of debris get caught in and block the oil pickup, preventing oil flow and leading to engine failure. To prevent this, multiple aftermarket companies came up with their own versions of Crank Seal Plates. This plate is installed behind the front damper, blocking the opening that allows the serpentine belt to pass between the crank hub and seal, keeping debris out of your oil pan! Also included in this kit are the components to service your front Oil Cooler/Filter Housing gaskets, refresh your drive belt system, and install the aftermarket upgrades.
