The factory BMW charge pipes are prone to cracking, as they are made from brittle plastic. Here at Turner, we sell several brands of replacement charge pipes that are typically made from cast aluminum. We recommend upgrading to hard charge pipes even on stock forced induction vehicles to avoid cracking - we've seen cracking occur on high mileage cars running stock power just as frequently as we do with high horsepower builds.

With constant heat cycling, the factory plastic becomes very brittle over time, leading to cracks and boost leaks, and ultimately entire part failures. The OE charge pipe has also been proven to break once under increased boost pressure. Replace the weak OE charge pipe with the Turner S55 Charge pipe for increased air flow, throttle response, and reliability. You can safely and reliably turn up the boost on your S55 once this kit is installed, and not worry about the problematic factory piece. Whether you have a stock car and are looking for improved throttle response and peace of mind, or a high boost monster in search of reliability in your big horsepower build, this charge pipe is the solution you’ve been looking for!
