BMW Cooling System Parts & Accessories for BMW F83 M4 S55 3.0L

The cooling system is arguably the weakest point in numerous BMWs. If you drive an aging BMW or plan on taking your car to the track like we do, we recommend beefing up your cooling system before going to the track. Generally, the main components in your cooling system that are prone to failure include the following: expansion tank, factory hoses, water pump, thermostat, fan (especially if your vehicle comes factory with a clutch fan), and radiator. Factory BMW expansion tanks are plastic and prone to either breaking off at connection points or combusting. As factory rubber hoses age they either crack or break over time - we offer silicone cooling hose upgrades for most applications to avoid future failures. If you have an older vehicle, your water pump likely comes from the factory with a plastic impeller - we offer upgraded water pumps with metal impellers that are far more reliable. Newer model BMWs utilize electric water pumps - BMW spent millions of dollars engineering these water pumps, but they fail so often that we recommend replacing at 60,000 mile service intervals to avoid being stranded on the side of the road. In terms of thermostats, we offer various upgraded thermostats for racing applications. If your BMW utilizes a clutch fan from the factory, we have several options available in terms of universal electric fans - we recommend replacing these to avoid sending brittle plastic fan blades through your hood. For radiators, we recommend swapping out your radiator for one that does not use plastic connection points like your factory radiator.

Some of the biggest issues when owning a BMW can come from cooling system components. Even through years of improvement, the same failure is seen with the plastic fittings and adapters from years of hot to cold temperature fluctuation. The N52/N54/N55/N20 engine sees failure at the plastic cylinder head outlet adapter connecting the cylinder head to the thermostat hose. The stock plastic adapter simply shears off at the end of the barbed fitting, creating a massive coolant leak. The engineering team at ECS Tuning decided a billet aluminum piece was a much better option to contend with the temperature fluctuation. Since other offerings on the market want you to modify your OE hose to be reused, they even developed a silicone replacement hose. These 2 pieces can be purchased separately if you decide to reuse your existing OE hose or in a package kit together for a single click upgrade. Features: Manufactured from billet 6061-T6 with type III anodized for exceptional durability and corrosion resistance. Much stronger part than OEM plastic Will not become brittle and fatigued over time due to thermal cycling. This will prevent the part from breaking during removal and re-installation. The 3.0 Liter S55B30 turbo engine for BMW M2/M3/M4 models is equipped with an indirect charge-air cooling circuit. So the cooling of the charged air is not realized by the ambient air as cooling medium (as usual), but made with its own cooling water circuit. A reduction of the temperature of the cooling water is directly equated with an improved cooling performance of the charged air. This is exactly where the advantages of the WAGNERTUNING upgrade water cooler comes into play. The new developed competition racing cores of the WAGNERTUNING high performance water coolers increase the radiator volume of the OEM water coolers by 89% for front mounted and 94% for side mounted. The calculated ratio between the inner and outer cooling surface generates a maximum heat transfer and allows at the same time enough air flow for the surrounding components (for example the engine water cooler) for its own heat exchange. The water coolers are equipped with a heat-conductive anti corrosion coating to ensure a lasting cooling effect.
