The factory BMW charge pipes are prone to cracking, as they are made from brittle plastic. Here at Turner, we sell several brands of replacement charge pipes that are typically made from cast aluminum. We recommend upgrading to hard charge pipes even on stock forced induction vehicles to avoid cracking - we've seen cracking occur on high mileage cars running stock power just as frequently as we do with high horsepower builds.

The Masters at Eventuri have invested months of intensive research, development, and testing to create a beautiful and effective aftermarket chargepipe solution for your S55 powered BMW. Eventuri is the gold standard for carbon fiber performance upgrades, and these chargepipes are no exception. The three main criteria kept in mind during the design of these chargepipes was fitment, flow quality, and strength. The carbon fiber construction allows for complex geometry providing an OE like fit. The flow is increased over stock, sporting a constant diameter throughout the chargepipes. The strength of OEM chargepipes is poor, rendering them prone to failure. The cross-directional carbon weave on the Eventuri pipes are over 2mm thick, providing a reliable strength even with increased boost levels or larger turbos altogether.

A common issue on S55 engines is when the plastic OE j-pipe cracks leading to boost leaks. DO88 saw this issue and designed a new metal j-pipe to take its place. Having 3D scanned the engine bay of an M3C, the team at DO88 was able to precisely see how much room they had to work with to get a perfect fit. This allowed them to expand the pipe from 85mm to 89mm in diameter, getting better airflow to the throttle body. This j-pipe kit will be the perfect reliable upgrade to your S55's intake system!

Presenting the perfect addition to our X5M, XM intake system to optimize the flow path all the way to the turbos. Our carbon inlets have a larger volume than the stock inlets by maintaining a larger diameter all the way to the turbos. The stock inlets narrow down immediately after the connection to the intake which creates a restriction especially at higher boost levels. We have alleviated this restriction and also designed the curvature to be as smooth as possible allowing the turbos to function with reduced resistance. Made from prepreg carbon fiber with CNC machined flanges, the inlets also provide an aesthetic improvement to the engine bay. Benefits of the inlets are apparent with tuned vehicles where the boost pressure is higher and therefore the flow demand form the turbos is greater. This is where the larger volume of the carbon inlets help provide that extra flow. The performance gains are produced from providing the turbos with a less resistive flow path which allows them to reach peak boost sooner in the RPM range. When comparing to the stock inlets the differences are clear to see. Where the stock tubes narrow down immediately after the connection to the intakes, our tubes maintain a larger diameter and the reduction to the stock turbos is achieved with an internal radius on the machined flanges. This allows for larger volume whilst maintaining a smooth flow path. One of the drawbacks of the oversized inlets was the more aggressive reduction in size to match the stock turbos which created some flow constraints.
