Sway bars transmit cornering forces from the outside wheels to the inside wheels, helping to keep the vehicle flat during cornering. This in turn reduces body roll and improves the driver's cornering confidence. OEM rubber sway bar bushings are designed with comfort in mind, allowing the sway bar to articulate while permitting additional movement, leading to less-than-ideal bar retention and causing unnecessary body roll. Powerflex polyurethane sway bar bushings are firmer than factory rubber bushings, reducing body roll and keeping sway bars in check. Control arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver. Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings. Poweflex is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension bushings. Using state of the art design and manufacturing, all replacement bushings are engineered to out-perform and out-last the ones that came in the car. The BMW E30 3 Series Front Sway Bar Bushing (19mm) is a crucial suspension component designed for the iconic E30 models produced from 1984 to 1991. These bushings are integral to the front sway bar's functionality, playing a significant role in enhancing the vehicle's handling, stability, and overall performance.

Key Features:

  1. Tailored for 19mm Sway Bars:

    • Specifically designed for E30 models equipped with a 19mm front sway bar, these bushings ensure a perfect fit for optimal performance and reduced body roll.
  2. Functionality:

    • The sway bar bushings connect the sway bar to the chassis, allowing it to effectively reduce body roll during cornering. This connection enhances stability and helps maintain better tire contact with the road.
  3. Material Choices:

    • Available in both rubber and polyurethane:
      • Rubber bushings provide a comfortable ride and effective noise dampening, although they may wear out more quickly under stress.
      • Polyurethane bushings are more durable and offer improved performance by reducing flex, resulting in sharper handling and better responsiveness during turns.
  4. Performance Benefits:

    • Replacing worn or degraded sway bar bushings can lead to noticeable improvements in handling, providing better control and stability during aggressive cornering and spirited driving.
  5. Compatibility:

    • Specifically engineered for the BMW E30 3 Series, these bushings help maintain the classic driving dynamics that enthusiasts appreciate, making them ideal for both daily use and spirited driving.
  6. Installation Process:

    • Installing new sway bar bushings typically involves detaching the sway bar from the vehicle. While this can be a straightforward task for experienced DIYers, professional installation is recommended to ensure proper alignment and functionality.

Advantages of Replacement or Upgrade:

  • Enhanced Cornering Performance: New bushings improve the effectiveness of the sway bar, resulting in less body roll and better handling during turns.
  • Increased Steering Feedback: Fresh bushings provide a more connected feel between the driver and the road, improving steering precision and responsiveness.
  • Longevity: Upgrading to polyurethane options extends the lifespan of the sway bar bushings, minimizing the need for frequent replacements.

In summary, the BMW E30 3 Series Front Sway Bar Bushing (19mm) is a vital component for maintaining and enhancing the handling and performance of these classic vehicles. Whether you’re replacing worn-out bushings or upgrading to polyurethane for better durability and performance, ensuring that these components are in top condition is essential for enjoying the legendary driving experience that the E30 is known for.

Differentials serve the key purpose of transmitting power from the driveshaft to the axles. Factory rubber bushings absorb some of this power to allow for cushy, comfortable acceleration, at the expense of performance. Many OEM differential bushings are fast-wearing and failure-prone, resulting in driveline slop and thunks when shifting or going over bumps. Powerflex polyurethane differential bushings are firmer than OEM rubber bushings, eliminating associated driveline slop and allowing for the crisp application of power to the ground, resulting in better throttle response and control. Powerflex is the number one selling suspension bushing manufacturer in Europe. Their experience with polyurethane bushing material and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques allows them to produce premium performance bushings, made to exact-fit standards. Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings are built to last longer than OEM rubber bushings while improving performance and allowing for a more engaging driving experience. The use of Powerflex Copper Grease PCG1 is recommended for ease of installation. Periodic reapplication is recommended to extend the squeak-free service life of bushings. Powerflex street bushings are ideal for street-driven vehicles and those that see occasional autocross or track time. Need bushings for a dedicated track car? Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Powerflex is proud to offer a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser on all products.

In professional motorsport, chassis predictability and geometric stability are non-negotiable. Standard factory rubber bushings are designed for low-frequency compliance, but under dynamic loading, they suffer from significant deflection. This deflection distorts your suspension geometry, slows down anti-roll bar transition times, and masks critical feedback from the rear axle.
