Control arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Powerflex street bushings are ideal for street driven vehicles and those that see occasional autocross or track time. Need bushings for a dedicated track car? Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

Poweflex is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension bushings. Using state of the art design and manufacturing, all replacement bushings are engineered to out-perform and out-last the ones that came in the car. Each line of bushings is meticulously tested and then re-tested to ensure perfect fitment and enduring quality through the life of the vehicle. Differential bushings are responsible for keeping the differential in solid alignment while dampening drivetrain vibration. While OE rubber bushings are fine when they are new from the factory, aged and worn out rubber bushings create a multitude of issues that can range from annoying to dangerous. As a factory bushing ages, it begins to harden and become brittle. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow for movement at the differential mounting point. At this point, the differential is free to shift under load causing a noticeable clunking noise under acceleration and deceleration and massively increasing the stress on the driveshaft and axles. Manual transmissions suffer the worst from this as it can make shifting difficult since the differential will shift when the clutch is engaged and disengaged.

By replacing these bushings with full polyurethane, the movement is eliminated since the mounting point is supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. This means less stress on the driveshaft and axles and greater longevity of supporting components.

Expect improved acceleration response, more direct shifting feel and overall improved drivetrain composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings.

The Powerflex Front Control Arm Rear Bushing (Caster Offset) for the BMW F48, F49 X1, and F39 X2 is a premium suspension upgrade designed to improve handling, steering feel, and suspension durability. These bushings replace the factory-installed rubber bushings, which are prone to wear and deflection over time, with high-quality polyurethane bushings that deliver enhanced performance and longevity.

Key Features:

  1. Caster Offset Design:

    • The bushing features a caster offset, meaning it slightly adjusts the position of the control arm to increase the vehicle’s caster angle. This improved geometry enhances the car's straight-line stability and helps maintain better steering feel during cornering. The result is sharper turn-in, better directional control, and a more responsive overall driving experience.
  2. Superior Material – Polyurethane:

    • Powerflex uses high-performance polyurethane, which is much more durable than standard rubber bushings. Polyurethane bushings resist degradation from oil, road grime, and temperature extremes, making them ideal for both daily driving and high-performance applications.
    • Benefits of Polyurethane:
      • Reduced Flex and Deflection: Offers a firmer connection between the control arm and chassis, reducing unwanted movement in the suspension and improving steering accuracy.
      • Extended Lifespan: Compared to the stock rubber bushings, these will last significantly longer, making them a solid investment for long-term performance and reliability.
      • Improved Handling: The reduced flex and firmer construction mean that the suspension responds more precisely to driver inputs, improving overall handling and cornering stability.
  3. Applications:

    • BMW X1 (F48, F49): This model is BMW’s compact luxury crossover SUV. The Powerflex bushings provide better handling, making the X1 more responsive and stable, especially at higher speeds or during spirited driving.
    • BMW X2 (F39): Known for its sportier, coupe-like stance, the X2 benefits from the improved geometry and stiffer bushing, resulting in even sharper steering and enhanced cornering ability, further emphasizing its sport-focused character.
  4. Improved Caster Angle:

    • The increased caster angle results in a more self-centering steering feel, providing better directional stability at high speeds, and enhancing control during cornering. This is especially beneficial for drivers who seek a more engaging driving experience or who use their BMW for spirited driving or track days.
  5. Performance and Practicality:

    • These bushings aren’t just for performance enthusiasts. Even for daily driving, they offer improvements in steering feedback and stability. The added durability ensures that your suspension components last longer, making it a worthwhile upgrade even for those who don’t push their cars to the limit.
  6. Professional Installation Recommended:

    • Installing these bushings requires removing the control arms and pressing out the old bushings. Since the caster offset alters the suspension geometry, a professional alignment is also recommended post-installation to ensure optimal performance.

Sway bars transmit cornering forces from the outside wheels to the inside wheels, helping to keep the vehicle flat during cornering. This, in turn, reduces body roll and improves the driver's cornering confidence. OEM rubber sway bar bushings are designed with comfort in mind, allowing the sway bar to articulate while permitting additional movement, leading to less-than-ideal bar retention and causes unnecessary body roll.

Powerflex polyurethane sway bar bushings are firmer than factory rubber bushings, reducing body roll and keeping sway bars in check. Polyurethane bushings won't slop around like OEM bushings, allowing sway bars to function at their fullest potential.

Differentials serve the key purpose of transmitting power from the driveshaft to the axles. Factory rubber bushings absorb some of this power to allow for cushy, comfortable acceleration, at the expense of performance. Many OEM differential bushings are fast-wearing and failure-prone, resulting in driveline slop and thunks when shifting or going over bumps. Your BMW G80/G82/G87 will improve in: Improved Handling and Stability - Upgrading to an aftermarket rear differential front mount bushing can do wonders for your car's handling and stability. These bushings are designed with performance in mind, reducing unwanted movement of the differential. Reduced Wheel Hop - Wheel hop can be a drag, both figuratively and literally. An upgraded front mount bushing helps minimize wheel hop, especially during hard acceleration or aggressive driving. Say goodbye to that unsettling bounce and hello to smoother power delivery. Powerflex polyurethane differential bushings are firmer than OEM rubber bushings, eliminating associated driveline slop and allowing for the crisp application of power to the ground, resulting in better throttle response and control. Powerflex is the number one selling suspension bushing manufacturer in Europe.

The Powerflex Rear Sway Bar Bushing for the BMW F10/F11, specifically designed for a 14mm sway bar, is a performance upgrade that significantly enhances the vehicle's handling and stability. By replacing the factory rubber bushings with high-quality polyurethane, this component provides several key benefits for driving enthusiasts.

Key Benefits:

  1. Enhanced Cornering Performance: The firmer polyurethane construction reduces the amount of flex in the sway bar, leading to improved stability during cornering. This reduction in body roll enhances traction and allows for more aggressive driving without compromising control.

  2. Superior Durability: These bushings are built to withstand harsh conditions, including exposure to oil, heat, and road debris. Unlike traditional rubber bushings that can degrade over time, Powerflex bushings maintain their integrity and performance for longer periods.

  3. Improved Steering Precision: By minimizing unwanted movement in the sway bar assembly, these bushings enhance steering feedback and responsiveness, resulting in a more connected driving experience. Drivers will notice a difference in handling and control, especially during spirited driving.

  4. Direct Fit for Easy Installation: Tailored specifically for the BMW F10/F11 models with a 14mm rear sway bar, these bushings ensure a straightforward installation process. They fit directly into the existing mounts without requiring modifications.

This upgrade is ideal for BMW F10/F11 owners looking to improve their vehicle's handling capabilities and overall driving experience. The Powerflex Rear Sway Bar Bushing provides a robust solution for enhancing the performance of the rear suspension, making it suitable for both everyday driving and high-performance scenarios.

You'll feel a more responsive and nimble ride, making driving more enjoyable, especially on winding roads. Improved Cornering: When you're navigating twists and turns, your BMW will feel more planted and confident. These bushings keep your BMW flat and stable, even during aggressive maneuvers. Enhanced Steering Response: Upgraded sway bar bushings provide quicker and more precise steering response. Say goodbye to sluggish turns and hello to agile handling.

Tasked with keeping the vehicles rear end firmly mounted while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber subframe bushings were engineered to provide a balance of control while keeping the ride quality soft and supple. As a factory bushings age, they become brittle and begin to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play, or movement in the subframe. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk or "thunking" noise under acceleration and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushings with full polyurethane this play is eliminated since the subframe is being held in place by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering and acceleration inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

Powerflex polyurethane bushings are firmer than OEM bushings, reducing deflection, improving handling, and extending tire life. Key benefits include:

  • Reduces deflection for improved suspension stability
  • Enhances handling over bumps and during cornering
  • Extends tire life with proper alignment
  • Durable polyurethane construction for long-lasting performance
  • Ideal for track and race applications with Powerflex Black Series
