The Akrapovic Cat-back Titanium exhaust system for the BMW X5/X6 M is designed for drivers who demand more power and less weight. In addition to weight reduction and a power gain, one of the tasks of the Akrapovic team was also to make the sound of the X5/X6 M become music to ones ears. An optional wireless "dualmode" exhaust flap control allows the vehicle to have a more civilized, but deeper than stock sound at low speed. However, when the exhaust flap is opened the muffler is bypassed, creating a deep and sporty sound much more in keeping with the personality of the car.

Power gains come in at 5.3 hp (at 5300 RPM) and 8.4 Nm (at 5250 RPM) with just the exhaust alone, and a total weight savings of 32.7 lbs! That is a 42% overall reduced difference in weight from stock.

We set out to amplify the F30/F32 with a proper exhaust system. To accomplish this goal, our engineers increased flow, reduced weight by 27lbs, and deliver an exhaust system that captures the full unrestricted sound of the turbo inline-6 N55 engine. The increase in flow is gained from single free flowing 3.0" titanium exhaust pipes that feed into the best designed muffler on the market. PERFORMANCE N55 STEPPED INTERCOOLER

Engines make more power when you're able to move as much air and fuel as possible through them. However, air density is just as important as air volume. Cooler air is denser air, so in addition to keeping your engine cool, it's important to make sure that your intake charge is as cool as possible. Turner Motorsport's upgraded intercooler works to reduce air temperatures with a bare minimum of pressure drop. Less pressure drop means less restriction, and a turbocharger that doesn't have to work as hard. This results not only in a longer service life for your turbocharger, but a substantial increase in performance as well.

The stepped design increases volume and surface are in a limited space by adding an additional smaller core at the top of the intercooler. Both cross sectional area and frontal surface area are increased by a whopping 56%, with a design that still weighs under 20 pounds. On the stock intercooler, the temperature differential between the inlet and outlet sides of the intercooler represented a 95 degree drop. With the Turner Motorsport intercooler, that drop was increased to a chilling 140 degrees. The dyno results don't lie: as a bolt-in upgrade, expect gains of 18 wheel horsepower and 10 lb/ft of torque. With a tune and supporting modifications, further gains are possible, up to 36 horsepower and 28 lb/ft of torque.

Some days you just want to put the pedal to the floor with unlimited amounts of exhaust volume with your high revving 6 cylinder. Starting off from a stop with the valves open there is a significant increase in volume over the valves closed. When entering in to the 2000 rpm range you begin to experience the slightest taste of how satisfying the exhaust is going to sound. As you approach 4,000 rpms and higher you now have started to open up the can of worms, you can feel the free-flowing path of the exhaust with limited to no resistance, far superior to the factory exhaust. Anything after 6500 rpms is an absolute statement of exhaust. Over 6500 rpm is a sonorous note that lives rent free in the enthusiasts mind that can make a believer out of anyone who doubted the capable E46 M3.
