BMW Catback Exhaust Systems

The Akrapovic Cat-back Titanium exhaust system for the BMW F90 M5 is designed for drivers who demand more power and less weight. In addition to weight reduction and a power gain, one of the tasks of the Akrapovic team was also to make the sound of the M5 become music to ones ears. An optional wireless "dualmode" exhaust flap control allows the vehicle to have a more civilized, but deeper than stock sound at low speed. However, when the exhaust flap is opened the muffler is bypassed, creating a deep and sporty sound much more in keeping with the personality of the car.

Power gains come in at +11.3hp (at 5700 RPM) and 21.3Nm (at 2300 RPM) with just the exhaust alone, and a total weight savings of 20.8 lbs! That is a 32.6% overall reduced difference in weight from stock.

The Mini is considered a car that always brings a smile to ones face with its playful look and particularly its position on the road, which is reminiscent of driving a go-kart. The engineers from Akrapovic prepared solutions for the little devil that further increase the performance of the Mini Cooper S and the Cooper S Cabrio as well make it sound even more appealing. Just by looking at the rear, we can see that it's an Akrapovic - namely, the rear boasts a dual exhaust system outlet of a larger diameter, shaped like racing exhausts. The homologated stainless steel aftermarket Evolution exhaust system with an integrated resonator and end muffler is equipped with adjustable tail pipes made of titanium or carbon fiber. The most demanding customers can also upgrade the Evolution exhaust system by using a down pipe with catalyst.

The Akrapovic exhaust system also improves sound characteristic, reduces drone and vibrations and makes driving even more enjoyable. The Evolution system, with the optional down pipe, greatly improves the motor's performance at all revolutions, which is evident from the performance chart. The system offers an additional 7,6 HP and 7 Nm. Additionally, improvements to weight are not negligible, since the Akrapovic exhaust system, made of stainless steel, together with the optional down pipe, weights 3,67 kilograms less than a stock exhaust system. The Akrapovic Evolution exhaust systems for the BMW F30 340i & F32 440i are the result of the perfect integration of expertise, the best technology, and the use of the finest materials. Made of austenitic stainless steel, these systems feature a newly developed layout with two central link pipes replacing the single stock pipe, a new muffler design, and carbon fiber tailpipes.

This Akrapovic Evolution exhaust improves upon the stock exhaust system of the BMW 340i in numerous areas. The first visible improvement is the additional power of 4 HP (at 6400 rpm) and 6.3 Nm (at 2550 rpm). The range between 2.000 rpm and 3.500 rpm  was particularly improved. A noticeable improvement can also be observed at high RPM where the Evolution gives more power. This sporty elegance makes this Bavarian machine stand out from the rest and offers the taste of a more powerful version, accentuated with the additional power gains and weight losses of the Evolution system. The dual-mode ECU-controlled valve exhaust from Akrapovic offers stock-level sound at normal cruising, and a joyful deep sporty note when driving the 340i more dynamically. The Evolution systems replace the stock exhaust from the catalytic converters back.

Akrapovic doesn't disappoint in the sound and engineering of the F87 M2 Evolution exhaust. True to form, their downpipe-back system sounds exotic and beastly. It's a European supercar sound instead of American muscle. The Akrapovic Evolution exhaust is a straight pipe from the M2 downpipe to the rear muffler - no cats and no resonators to dampen the sound. The rear muffler incorporates two bypass valves to tailor the sound level to your needs. The whole system is made from ultra light weight titanium with carbon fiber tips.

The Akrapovic system includes muffler valves for both outlets (the stock system only uses one on the driver side). A valve controller and wiring harness are included to operate both valves from the stock wiring. This allows you to preserve the stock operation of the valves in Comfort, Sport, and Sport+ modes. In addition, Akrapovic has their own optional sound controller that lets you open/close the valves from a key fob or phone app (iOS or Android).

An optional carbon fiber diffuser complements the carbon fiber Akrapovic exhaust tips. Not required for install, the carbon diffuser helps frame the rear exhaust tips and outlets and present a more muscular and athletic appearance.
