Zimmermann vented Coat Z brake rotors are bathed in a special water-based solution, then heated to cure the coating and remove all oil residue remaining from the manufacturing process. These added steps create a durable, lasting rotor surface that resists road salt, solvents, and other corrosives. Coat Z keeps rotors looking good, especially important on cars with open spoke alloy wheels. There is no need to clean these rotors before installing them. Take them out of the box, and install them on the car. To ensure maximum performance, please bed new pads correctly. Proper bedding transfers a thin layer of brake material from the new pads to the rotor braking surface. Bedding improves brake performance with less dusting, makes pads last longer, improves pedal feel, and reduces or eliminates brake noise.

The Girodisc system is a direct replacement iron rotor for the OEM Carbon disc, no modifications are necessary. The disc will bolt directly to the car and work with OEM calipers and pads perfectly. The central hat section of our rotor is made from strictly U.S. sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from our own proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined from start to finish in house at Girodisc. The rotor utilizes a curved vane design, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc. The rotor and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 12 high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to our own specifications and cadmium plated for a long lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads. Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.

The Euro rotors are cross-drilled and floating, providing much improved cooling over the stock US brakes and are a direct replacement for the stock US rotors. These Zimmerman floating rotors are made in Germany and are almost identical to the Genuine BMW floating rotors that are no longer available to the US. This is a pair of FRONT 330mm rotors that fit the F30 328i/iX and F32 428i/iX with the optional M Sport trim package (option code P337A) but not the optional M Sport brake upgrade (option code S2NHA).

The M Sport trim package included the M Sport aero kit (front bumper), a sport steering wheel, and other trim pieces that made it different than a regular Sport package. It also included slightly larger front brakes (330mm vs 312mm) for better stopping performance when driven hard. There is another brake upgrade poorly named M Sport Brakes that was a separate option and could be ordered with any trim package (option code S2NHA). They were 340mm in diameter and also came with 4-piston Brembo calipers from the 335. The item you are looking at is only for the M Sport trim package with the 330mm rotors. Direct replacement REAR brake rotor for F30 320i/328i and F32 428i (RWD models) and F33 428i/428iX convertibles (with N20 engine, not N26 SULEV).

Zimmerman rotors are finished with an anti-corrosion zinc dichromate coating over the entire rotor. This coating is applied over the rotor hat, face, and through the vanes for total corrosion protection. Even after a year of use the Zimmerman coating doesn't change color or effectiveness. The rotors are ready to use after correct bed-in procedures have been done. In addition, Zimmerman uses a high carbon content in their discs for improved thermal performance.

This is one pair of OEM rear brake rotors/discs for the E60 525i, 528i, 530i rear brake rotors (sold as a pair).

We offer a choice of brands to satisfy our customer's stringent quality standards -
Pagid Coated - an OEM type rotor made to the same dimensions and specs as the original design. These rotors have a high carbon content for excellent wear and thermal resistance. We like these rotors a lot because the quality is very high and the entire rotor is dip coated with anti-corrosion layer to prevent rust on the hub and in the cooling vanes, while the Zimmerman are only spray coated.
