We recommend preventative replacement of the fuel filter at 80-100,000 mile intervals. BMW called them "lifetime" but there's no question that any filter is going to get saturated with debris and dirt and its performance will suffer. The dirty filter can cause E90/E92 running issues like stalling, poor performance, rough running, chugging. We have replaced these filters in cars with 130,000+ miles and found the original filter was long overdue for replacement. These cars had the above driveability problems but had no fault codes or DTCs (which led to other shops making poor service recommendations). So we recommend having this done at the 80-100,000 mile mark as a scheduled maintenance item. There's no harm or downside to replacing it before it's completely clogged and your engine starts to suffer.

The fuel filter is located on the driver's side and includes two new large o-rings for the lock rings. The crossover lines to the fuel pump on the passenger side are included as well. We recommend new steel lock rings for the filter and the pump, especially on cars located in the Rust Belt or in salty climates. On really high mileage cars it would be a good idea to also replace the fuel pump as preventative maintenance since the job is essentially the same. The E9X fuel filter replacement is not complex but access can be difficult and you're dealing with potentially fragile plastic so amateurs may want to leave this to a professional technician.

When doing any sort of repair or maintenance there is no replacement for genuine factory parts. Turner Motorsport carries the Genuine BMW brand with pride and has the parts you need to complete your next project with confidence.

Not for N51 SULEV engines in 128i/328i/328xi. Check with your BMW dealer on SULEV parts that may be covered under an extended warranty.

Our kit is entirely plug-and-play with the factory vehicle harness. No cutting or splicing of OEM wiring/connectors. It installs in minutes and can be removed without a trace on the car!

Our team used SolidWorks to design a Flow Optimized Flex Fuel Sensor Adapter (FFSA) to ensure fuel flow is unobstructed and with no added pressure drop at full fuel pump flow from the fuel tank to your motor when our kit is installed. This is important when pushing the factory fuel system with all the power Ethanol can provide over petrol!

Flex fuel sensor housing is designed to neatly install into the factory BMW fuel hat location.

Flex Fuel Sensor Adapter also contains two 1/8 NPT ports that allow installation of an auxiliary Fuel Pressure sensor for vehicles that don’t come with an OEM one from the factory for future use. Depending on fitment, either port can be used.

The full plug-and-play EKPM3 / EKPM2 cooler kit is designed specifically for E82 BMWs using an EKPM3 or EKPM2 fuel pump control module. This is recommended for anyone using a low-pressure fuel pump that is larger than the OEM fuel pump. Please note that if you have an HW06 + (Slim EKPM3), you must choose the HW06 option, as the pre-HW06 housings will not fit. Installation Tips: https://arcterminator.com/pages/e90-e92-e93-ekp-cooler-install-instructions We recommend using Fuse #8 (2007+ E82), which is the cigarette lighter fuse to power this. It is a 20 amp fuse, which you will just need to pull out and put into the empty slot of the fuse holder that comes with the kit. Then you'll need to put that fuse holder into the now empty #8 fuse slot. This ensures that the fan will only turn on when the ignition in the car is turned on. You'll also need trim removal tools, as well as a 10mm socket to remove and re-install the EKP module. We recommend using the stock grounding point that's above the EKP module or the EKP module's mounting points as the ground. The ring terminal with the kit will fit either location. The whole installation should take you between 30 - 45 minutes.
