This Supersprint section 2 replaces the second of two resonators in the 323/328 exhaust. By deleting resonators you can gain a little more volume from the exhaust. This is especially good if you're a fan of the stock exhaust sound and just want to hear more of it. Replacing one resonator makes a moderate difference but replacing both section 1 and 2 will be a dramatic increase in sound. This Supersprint center section will delete the secondary silencer/resonator in the stock exhaust and fit with the Supersprint sport rear muffler. The front of this section is clamped to the stock secondary cats via a set of connecting pipes. By eliminating the resonator, and matched to the rear muffler, more engine sound can be heard. This front section is a direct replacement for the stock 235i/335/435/M2 exhaust with one key difference - the Supersprint uses full 80mm piping for improved flow out of the turbo. One of the best and easiest ways of getting more power from a stock turbo is by helping it push exhaust gas and larger and smoother exhaust piping will help with that. Supersprint sport cats for the M5/M6 are designed to work with their performance headers and replace the stock secondary cats. The Supersprint sport cats are much freer-flowing than a factory-style cat. With less restriction, less effort is required to move the exhaust gasses which will free up horsepower and torque. HJS is now a worldwide leader in sport cat technology and performance. Rally cars, German DTM, and Formula 3 all rely on HJS for clean, reliable horsepower. Supersprint works closely with HJS to spec a catalytic converter that is correct for the vehicle and engine package. This allows for a substantial increase in flow but which, at the same time, keeps the environmental specs within European limits. Supersprint makes one of the nicest, highest quality performance exhausts for the E36 M3 that we have seen. This exhaust functions more like a stock replacement sport exhaust than an aftermarket performance system. The sound is sporty and throaty but without attendant drama and over-powering sound. We like to say that it's a more mature sound than some other aftermarket exhaust which makes it perfect when included on an E36 M3 restoration or classic European tune.
