The factory M5/M6 exhaust system is very wide open with minimal restrictions - except for the catalytic converters. HJS is now a worldwide leader in sport cat technology and performance. Rally cars, German DTM, and Formula 3 all rely on HJS for clean, reliable horsepower. Supersprint works closely with HJS to spec a catalytic converter that is correct for the vehicle and engine package. This allows for a substantial increase in flow but which, at the same time, keeps the environmental specs within European limits. With any high-flow catalytic converter, special software or other work may be required to keep emissions fault codes and check engine lights from displaying. Many people know that one of the main keys to getting power from a turbo is to open up the exhaust. Larger piping and less restrictions mean the exhaust gas can flow more easily which is less work for the turbo(s) and engine and that frees up torque and horsepower. These 100-cell metallic sport cats sit in oversized 60-65mm piping and are perfect for someone who installed cat-less downpipes but want some catalytic action on the exhaust to avoid bad smells and pollution. There are no crushed sections in the tubing, unlike the factory system, which contributes to improved flow. These are a direct replacement for the stock secondary cats and bolt to the turbo downpipe. At the back end these are clamped to a section 2 (stock or Supersprint X-Pipe).

Placing resonators after cat-less downpipes will help tune the sound from the S63TU engine. By removing the factory catted downpipes you're removing a large sound muffler as well and adding resonators can help tone down the open exhaust. These headers are handcrafted in Italy by Supersprint and are beautiful as well as functional. The stock M5/M6 header system is pretty good as far as BMW systems go... but Supersprint has improved on the design with mandrel-bent tubing (not crushed tubing like the stock system), full stainless-steel construction, and a bolt-on installation (the engine does not require removal). Each tube is mounted to the exhaust ports with the correct-sized flanges. The tubes are as close to equal length as possible and merge together in Supersprint's precision collector.

These headers can then be bolted to the rest of the factory exhaust or installed with Supersprint high-flow catalytic converters. Dyno testing has shown repeated gains of over 60hp with the complete system. You can choose to buy only the Supersprint headers to bolt to the stock secondary cats or high-flow Supersprint secondary cats are an option.
Removal of the factory headers and installation of the Supersprint headers can be done with the engine in the car - the engine does not need to be removed at any time. Also, there is no cutting, welding, or fabricating required. Thesewill bolt to existing flanges or piping. However, because the process involves the removal of several critical systems and components to gain access to the engine (the external oil pumps of the dry-sump oiling system, for instance) theinstallation of these headers should only be done by a shop familiar with installations of intricate header systems.
Because of the time that Supersprint's engineers dedicate to building these headers, they will be in very short supply, ensuring its exclusivity as the finest aftermarket headers available for the M5/M6 in the world.

Supersprint sport cats for the F10 M5 are designed to work with their cat-less downpipes. The Supersprint sport cats are much freer-flowing than a factory-style ceramic cat. With less restriction, less effort is required to move the exhaust gasses which will free up horsepower and torque (and helps the turbos last longer). This cat section will mount to the Supersprint downpipes and then to a Supersprint center pipe. These are built with O2 sensor bungs pre-installed after the cat if you wanted to extend your stock post-cat O2 sensors (however, special software may still be needed).

These Supersprint tubular headers are a larger diameter and have better flow than the stock exhaust manifolds and they make more power. And since the stock headers are known to be brittle and can crack over time these make for an excellent upgrade replacement.
This header system features an X-pipe after the headers to improve exhaust flow and scavenging. The X-pipe helps the exhaust gas mix and then flow into the rest of the exhaust. This header system has straight outlets from the X-pipe so a custom center section is recommended. Supersprint also makes a header and X-pipe to fit to the factory E30 catalytic converter.

Free ground shipping! The factory M5/M6 exhaust system is very wide open with a minimal of restrictions - except for the catalytic converters. The factory ceramic cat is the biggest restriction so any exhaust work to gain more power is going to have to involve replacing it with something freer-flowing. Supersprint's downpipe incorporates a high-flow HJS 200-cell metallic cat that flows considerably more than the stock ceramic part. This cat downpipe is for the left bank.

Supersprint metallic sport catalytic converters are sourced from HJS of Germany. For 30 years HJS has been supplying motorsports teams with sport cats when rules required them. HJS is now a worldwide leader in sport cat technology and performance. Rally cars, German DTM, and Formula 3 all rely on HJS for clean, reliable horsepower. Supersprint works closely with HJS to spec a catalytic converter that is correct for the vehicle and engine package. This allows for a substantial increase in flow but which, at the same time, keeps the environmental specs within European limits. With any high-flow catalytic converter, special software or other work may be required to keep emissions fault codes and check engine lights from displaying. Supersprint catalytic converters are sold for track and other off-road uses only.

All E39 fitment note: the fitment of this muffler is designed for the stock E39 rear bumper. The tips will sit below the bumper line. Supersprint produces a different muffler for the 540i M-Sport rear bumper (Supersprint #785926).
525i/530i fitment note: the Supersprint section 2 resonator-delete is used for all 6-cylinder E39 but the factory center resonator is different for the 525i/530i models. Instead of a slip-fit or clamp-on connection it must be welded at an existing seam on the exhaust. The whole exhaust must be removed for this installation. Refer to this image for an illustration. This does not apply if you're only installing the muffler (with small connecting pipe).

Supersprint's rear mufflers for the 335i and 335xi produce a pleasing but not intrusive exhaust sound. This set of mufflers are considered their 'street' system with only a modest increase in volume to give a hint of added performance without being obnoxious or annoying. This is a great set of mufflers for altering the exhaust note without drawing attention to yourself. You can also add additional Supersprint sections to better tune the exhaust to your preferances. This set uses the single 90mm round tip per side that fills in the bumper nicely. Another system is available that uses 4 80mm round tips.
