BC Racing has made a name for themselves in the automotive enthusiast communities by developing adjustable, street-and-track capable coilover kits for over a decade that are not only extremely effective, but also don't brake the bank! The BC Racing RM Series Coilover System uses a mono-tube inverted damper in the front and rear of vehicles that use McPherson style OEM strut suspension. On vehicles that use front struts only, BC Racing provides an inverted front strut and then provides an upright BR Series damper for the rear. Inverted dampers are useful in decreasing unsprung weight by moving the greatest mass of the strut to the top where it connects to the sprung weight of the chassis, where weight can be more easily shaved. The RM series feature high quality damping adjustable monotube inverted dampers at the front or front and rear, depending on vehicle. The RM coilovers offer the majority of the features of the BR series but with the additional benefit of the inverted damper unit. Inverting the damper unit brings with it a number of advantages. The large 42mm damper rod and inverted design gives the inverted damper units much greater strength and resistance to side loadings. By reducing flex the RM inverted units lead to more consistent steering geometry resulting in more predictable and responsive handling. Know your protected from the elements! The damper units are black chromed steel to give superb durability even through the darkest of European winters. The aluminum components (top mounts, locking collars etc.) are anodized and the steel lower mounts go through an electrophoretic disposition process followed by powder coating. A random selection of steel components (brackets, dampers, screws etc.) are put through a salt spray test once a month to check the quality of the protective processes and that anti corrosive properties are kept at the highest possible standard. With the adaptive KW DDC Plug & Play coilover suspensions there are no compromises to be made and you can combine the control of your standard damper system with a seamless suspension lowering and the driving dynamics tuned by KW suspensions experienced engineers. During installation, the factory electronic struts are simply replaced by KW “inox-line” stainless steel coilover struts and the adaptive KW dampers are connected to the on-board electronics using your vehicle's original plugs. This kit is an excellent compromise between a fully-adjustable V3 suspension and the basic V1 street kit. It's great for someone who does not want to make complicated and time-consuming shock adjustments. Just dial in the rebound for more grip and less body motions. Set it back for a compliant street ride.

Coil over suspensions are better engineered suspension options compared to a standard shock + spring package. Since the springs and shocks in a coil over are designed by a team of engineers to work together, there is much better suspension travel and more precisely tuned specifications for spring and shock rates. Using separate shock and spring specs may result in premature coil bind or shock bottoming. And most coil over kits offer more features than the traditional packages. Coil overs are also more useful when larger wheels/tires are used because you can precisely set the ride heights to clear the new tires.

Fitment Note: Wheel spacers may be required depending on wheel/tire sizing and ride height setting.

The Variant 1 is KW's basic simple and effective coil over kit that is still packed with lots of features -

Pre-set damping optimized for a blend of ride comfort and handling with less bodyroll than the standard suspension,

Individually height-adjustable - Front = 25-50mm lowering; Rear = 30-55mm lowering,

Expert engineering and design for ease-of-use and long durability,
This is the ideal coil over kit for a F30/F32 owner who does not plan on tracking or autocrossing the car and just wants a lower, more aggressive stance and better handling. KW has set the shock damping rates to be an excellent balance for a smooth yet taut ride, and to resist bodyroll motions for better handling. The Variant 1 differs from the Street Comfort set in that it has stiffer springs and revised shock settings. If you want a sportier ride and better handling than stock the Variant 1 is an excellent choice.

Coil over suspensions are better engineered suspension options compared to a standard shock + spring package. Since the springs and shocks in a coil over are designed by a team of engineers to work together, there is much better suspension travel and more precisely tuned specifications for spring and shock rates. Using separate shock and spring specs may result in premature coil bind or shock bottoming. And most coil over kits offer more features than the traditional packages. Coil overs are also more useful when larger wheels/tires are used because you can precisely set the ride heights to clear the new tires.

Fitment Note: Wheel spacers may be required depending on wheel/tire sizing and ride height setting.
Cars with the factory EDC electronic adjustable shocks must have the system disabled with the optional KW EDC Cancellation Kit (or similar). This is a direct fit for cars without EDC.

The BC Racing RM Series Coilover System uses a mono-tube inverted damper in the front and rear of vehicles that use McPherson style OEM strut suspension. On vehicles that use front struts only, BC Racing provides an inverted front strut and then provides an upright BR Series damper for the rear. Inverted dampers are useful in decreasing unsprung weight by moving the greatest mass of the strut to the top where it connects to the sprung weight of the chassis, where weight can be more easily shaved. The RM series feature high quality damping adjustable monotube inverted dampers at the front or front and rear, depending on vehicle. The RM coilovers offer the majority of the features of the BR series but with the additional benefit of the inverted damper unit. Inverting the damper unit brings with it a number of advantages. The large 42mm damper rod and inverted design gives the inverted damper units much greater strength and resistance to side loadings. By reducing flex the RM inverted units lead to more consistent steering geometry resulting in more predictable and responsive handling. Know your protected from the elements! The damper units are black chromed steel to give superb durability even through the darkest of European winters. The aluminum components (top mounts, locking collars etc.) are anodized and the steel lower mounts go through an electrophoretic disposition process followed by powder coating. A random selection of steel components (brackets, dampers, screws etc.) are put through a salt spray test once a month to check the quality of the protective processes and that anti corrosive properties are kept at the highest possible standard.
