Shock Mount Kits

Rubber mounts in any position of a vehicle are usually designed with comfort and longevity in mind leaving performance as a sacrifice. This kind of sacrifice here at Turner just won't do, so we did what we do best and designed a solid monoball mount.

Our engineering team first wanted to tackle the issue with wear found on rubber mounts. Due to their combination of steel, rubber, and low mounting location, these mounts are a direct target for deterioration and failure. As they are positioned out in the open and exposed to the elements, bonded steel and rubber components inevitably hold moisture, separating as the steel bearing begins to rust. Our solution was to offer a rebuildable mount with a Teflon lined bearing for increased durability, combined with a blue anodized body and melonite coated bushing sleeves for corrosion resistance.

The performance side of these mounts is primarily found in the articulation allowed by the bearing. Rubber mounts do not allow for proper free damper movement, hindering shock performance. By eliminating the deflection found in factory rubber mounts and allowing full shock articulation, this solid monoball design eliminates slop and maximizes shock efficiency and performance, allowing for more predictable handling on the street or the track - with almost zero added noise, vibration, and harshness.

This upper shock tower strut mount is located at the top of the shock. We recommend inspecting or replacing these while replacing the rear shocks.

Due to their soft rubber construction, OE strut mounts are known to wear at an accelerated rate. Many high-mileage vehicles fall victim to strut mount failure, which is commonly associated with annoying clunks, groans, or rattles from the front suspension.

With this issue in mind, ECS Tuning developed their heavy-duty front strut mount with upgraded, higher durometer rubber to resolve sloppy handling and increase longevity. Manufactured precisely within OEM tolerances, these mounts are a perfect fit for your BMW.

Reduces deflection: Increases vehicle handling and cornering dynamics by removing deflection within the strut mount. Increases longevity: Upgraded rubber construction makes for a stiffer mount, less prone to cracking and general degradation. If you're installing racing rear shocks with a spherical bearing end you will need this adapter mount for the top of the rear shock. Spherical or rod-end bearings are common on race shocks but they are somewhat universal and mounts are not usually included. We designed and engineered these mounts for our E9X M3 and E90 328i IMSA/CTSCC racecars. Our cacing upper shock mount is machined out of aircraft grade aluminum with a tough anodize finish and high grade hardware. Due to the wide variety of spherical bearings and rod-ends found on race shocks, the bushing kit is sold seperately (see chart for bushing sizes).

E9X Racing Rear Spherical Upper Shock Mount Instructions

Located on the underside of the vehicle, this mount is a critical suspension component that pairs with the upper mount inside the trunk area to securely anchor the suspension system. Together, they help absorb vibrations, reduce noise, and maintain a smooth, controlled ride.

Over time, exposure to road debris, moisture, and everyday wear can weaken this mount, potentially causing increased noise, diminished ride quality, and compromised handling. Replacing a worn or damaged mount is essential to restore suspension performance and maintain vehicle stability.
