Developed and engineered with the OEM standard as the framework, these AutoTecknic replacement dry carbon grille surrounds are made with 100% pre-preg carbon fiber, resulting in overall durable construction with strong clips and tabs for a secure and seamless fit. Dry carbon fiber's name comes from its manufacturing process. Dry carbon fiber is formed by using a "pre-preg" or impregnated piece of carbon materials. This piece of carbon is first placed into a mold and then into a sealed vacuum (autoclave) to cure appropriately. This method creates the least amount of waste and forms a lighter version of carbon than the "wet" method. The autoclave vacuuming process of making dry carbon means fewer pinholes and virtually no air pockets in the carbon. The original G8X front grille has really made a name for itself in the world of controversy but after having some time to warm up to it, the majority can probably say it's not as bad as we thought.
