These Supersprint performance mufflers enhance the athletic side of the M6's personality. With a freer-flowing design there is more of that exhaust pop and rumble coming to the cabin, reminding you that this is a BMW Motorsport vehicle and not a luxury cruiser. The sport mufflers are more subdued than the race version with a great sound and no dramatic side effects. The Supersprint 'Race' rear muffler system is one step beyond the standard Sport mufflers. Don't be fooled by the name - the 'Race' mufflers are designed for street use and the name only distinguishes it from the standard Sport system. With the stock system the sound is very subdued. With the 'Race' mufflers the sound is much more noticeable and more aggressive - a perfect sound to compliment the assertive nature of an M6. Supersprint makes one of the nicest, highest quality performance exhausts for the E36 M3 that we have seen. This exhaust functions more like a stock replacement sport exhaust than an aftermarket performance system. The sound is sporty and throaty but without attendant drama and over-powering sound. We like to say that it's a more mature sound than some other aftermarket exhaust which makes it perfect when included on an E36 M3 restoration or classic European tune. This Supersprint is all stainless steel and bolts on to the stock US catalytic converter section with the stock hangers and gaskets.

This Supersprint cat-back race exhaust for the E70 X5 6-cylinder models will give a bit more pop and sexiness to the exhaust note. The sound is more noticeable on the gasoline N55 35iX model than on the Diesel. On the 35iX there is a ripping and growling exhaust note that will instantly get recognition without being obnoxious. It's a refined exotic European sound. On the Diesel 35dX model there is more turbo whistle and a bit more growl but is still relatively subdued (thanks to the large dampening effects of the DPF and SCR catalytic system). Supersprint revised their rear muffler designs to offer this 'Generation 2' version - smaller body and freer flow than the standard Supersprint muffler but quieter and more civilized than the full Lightweight Racing mufflers. It's still lighter than the stock original or standard Supersprint mufflers.
