Often referred to as a guide mount or front strut support, this part can lead to suspension squeaks or clunking noises when worn over time. The same guide is used on both the passenger and driver sides. It mounts to the top of the strut, securing the spring and strut in place while exposing the strut's end thread when compressed and locked. Professional installation is recommended. EDC / DDC = Electronic Dampening Control.

While replacing front shocks it is a good idea to inspect / replace these mounts as the rubber can wear and crack over time. This mounts at the top of the front shock and is held into the chassis with 3 bolts.

To get the most out of your new suspension setup, it's recommended that you replace all parts that are known to fail. Not only will this make your new setup more effective, it will provide a better ride, proper tire position, and make all of your parts last longer. One often overlooked piece is the upper strut bearing. This is the top mount for your struts and provides a solid platform for your front suspension. If worn, the bearings within this mount make noise, there is slop from worn rubber, and it can shorten the life of your shocks.
