- Chassis Reinforcement Kits & Parts
As much of an "Ultimate Driving Machine" it is, many BMW models unfortunately suffer from weak points in the chassis. Over the years we have uncovered many weak or failure-prone areas in the chassis and have developed our own reinforcing solutions for them. And we continue to be the leading experts on BMW chassis reinforcing. Failures can come from a number, or combination, of causes: improper maintenance, age and mileage, poor design, environmental factors, poor repair work, and over-stressing modifications. The longer you let your car go without repairing or reinforcing these areas, the closer it gets to crumbling apart. Our chassis reinforcement kits are designed to first identify potential weak points and then strengthen and reinforce the existing design.

A very common weak point on the 3 series BMW is the sheetmetal of the rear shock tower. The sheetmetal here is relatively thin and very susceptible to stress and fatigue. A worn out shock will bottom-out more often and this energy is transferred through the bump stop and into the metal chassis. Stiffer shocks and shock mounts also put more stress on the sheetmetal. Factor in age, mileage, and environmental conditions and it's not a surprise that we see shock tower failures often. BMW addressed this issue with reinforcements of their own but our's are thicker for additional strength. This kit mounts on top of the shock tower and can either be bolted or welded in place. Because of the shape of the rear shock tower, these do not fit cabrio/convertible cars.

The motor mount area on a subframe is one of those easily-forgotton areas that may be hiding a serious problem. The subframe on the E36 has a gusset ('ear') welded on for the motor mounts. These gussets take the stress of the motor mount as the engine torques (more upgrades = more torque = more stress). Worn motor mounts only transfer more stress to the subframe. Unfortunately, the gusset is not well-reinforced from the factory and cracks can develop along the welds and the gusset begins to collapse. A total failure of the guesset will shift your engine to the side and forward, taking out many other components along the way and leading to a very costly repair.

Reduces chassis flex for improved handling and control. Beautiful carbon weave for both a functional and aesthetic enhancing upgrade for your G20 or G42!
The G20 and G42 come in a variety of different models offering a variety of performance options. Whether you have a B48 or B58 they both provide an exhilarating driving experience but are missing a key component found on the M3 and M4, chassis bracing. Taking performance cues from the more performance based "M" chassis we are able to bring an immense value add to your new 2 or 3 series to get the most out of your driving experience with our new 3-point strut brace. This is the only strut brace on the market that takes the handling characteristics from the M3 and puts them to use on your vehicle.
An instant upgrade with no modification needed. Fits directly on your vehicle utilizing factory hardware and supplied stud kit. Designed for both street and track use this 2 piece strut brace is mounted together to create one uniform brace for the best improvement in handling.
Strut tower braces are an excellent and common handling upgrade that work by bracing the shock towers together to reduce chassis flex during cornering. Our engineers designed and tested our one of a kind carbon fiber strut brace in-house to increase chassis rigidity and improve handling during aggressive driving in your 2 or 3 series G chassis BMW. Turner Motorsport has engineered a lightweight* and extremely rigid strut brace kit comprised of carbon fiber with billet aluminum end brackets that will not only enhance your driving experience but also provide an eye-catching addition to your engine bay. This addition gets your chassis once step closer to competing with the BMW M cars that come equipped with factory strut braces!
Our Turner Carbon Fiber Strut Tower Brace for your G20/G42 is incredible! Not just a show piece, This front strut brace is a precision engineered structural component that ensures power is transferred properly and not lost through chassis flex, without any increase in NVH. Adding the strut tower brace allows cornering load to be distributed more competently between both strut towers to reduce chassis flex, preventing changes in wheel alignment geometry that can negatively impact handling.
Carbon fiber is an excellent addition on any vehicle, and offers a very unique look that is found on some of the most exotic vehicles on the road today. This strut brace kit features a clean woven design that is sure to look phenomenal for years to come, and will absolutely compliment your engine bay. This kit includes everything you need for installation.
Design:
CAD designed for perfect integration with the stock mounting locations and features in the engine bay.
Utilizes the factory mounting hardware and supplied mounting studs
Designed with an oval cross-sectional area for increased rigidity
Manufactured using structural carbon fiber with a 2x2 twill weave outer layer for increased rigidity and a great look in the engine bay.
The aluminum chassis mounts are machined from 6061-T6, type II black anodized and bonded to the carbon structure to ensure secure and strong mounting of the strut brace to the chassis.
Performance and Benefits:
Increases structural rigidity of the chassis
Direct fitment
Functional and aesthetic upgrade
Hand-laid Gloss Carbon Fiber
Billet aluminum mounting

The BMW E46 3-Series chassis is one of the most rigid and well built BMW chassis to date. Even so, it still has some of the traditional BMW weak points. One of these is the rear sway bar / swaybar mounts. From chassis to chassis the problem has not been identical, but all the damage we have seen has been related to metal fatigue. The metal fatigue is due to the constant twisting and side loading of the sway bar. These forces on the sway bar will cause the mounting points to fail over time. The failure can happen faster with sway bar bind due to improper maintenance of the bushings. However, proper sway bar bushing maintenance does not totally eliminate the problem. In the case of the E46 the sheet metal for the bushing bracket does not have enough material to support the loads being transferred to the subframe. We have designed the reinforcement to strengthen and redirect the load to stronger sheet metal. Requires Welding. Does not fit M3.

This product reinforces the metal swaybar link mounting point on the rear trailing arm. The sheet metal breaks off the trailing arm due to the constant up and down loads being placed on the trailing arm from the swaybar. Problems increase when larger sway bars are used. This product eliminates the problem by thickening the sheet metal and triangulating the mounting point. A good time to install this kit would be when you are doing any rear suspension work, exhaust, or even if you are just doing a differential fluid change. This part requires welding for installation.

These gussets take the stress of the motor mount as the engine torques (more upgrades = more torque = more stress). Worn motor mounts only transfer more stress to the subframe. Every E30 M3 that comes into our shop gets the front swaybar tab inspected. This is such a common problem but with an easy fix. If left to worsen you may be looking at an entire strut housing replacement. Fix it now with these reinforcing plates and a little welding! Not only will modified suspensions put stress on the mounts but age will reduce their strength as well. Reinforcing the swaybar mount to the strut will keep your swaybar geometry in spec and prevent a costly and ugly repair.
