Sway bars transmit cornering forces from the outside wheels to the inside wheels, helping to keep the vehicle flat during cornering. This, in turn, reduces body roll and improves the driver's cornering confidence. OEM rubber sway bar bushings are designed with comfort in mind, allowing the sway bar to articulate while permitting additional movement, leading to less-than-ideal bar retention and causes unnecessary body roll.

Powerflex polyurethane sway bar bushings are firmer than factory rubber bushings, reducing body roll and keeping sway bars in check. Polyurethane bushings won't slop around like OEM bushings, allowing sway bars to function at their fullest potential.

Poweflex is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension bushings. Using state of the art design and manufacturing, all replacement bushings are engineered to out-perform and out-last the ones that came in the car. Each line of bushings is meticulously tested and then re-tested to ensure perfect fitment and enduring quality through the life of the vehicle. A full lifetime warranty backs every one of their products and demonstrates the level of confidence and commitment Powerflex has to their customers.

The Powerflex Front Lower Control Arm Rear Bushing for the BMW E36, E30, Z3, and Z1, featuring an aluminum shell (centered), is a high-performance component designed to improve the vehicle's front suspension dynamics. By replacing the stock rubber bushings with this robust polyurethane and aluminum design, drivers can experience enhanced handling, stability, and durability.

Control arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

Differential bushings are responsible for keeping the differential in solid alignment while dampening drivetrain vibration. While OE rubber bushings are fine when they are new from the factory, aged and worn out rubber bushings create a multitude of issues that can range from annoying to dangerous. As a factory bushing ages, it begins to harden and become brittle. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow for movement at the differential mounting point. At this point, the differential is free to shift under load causing a noticeable clunking noise under acceleration and deceleration and massively increasing the stress on the driveshaft and axles. Manual transmissions suffer the worst from this as it can make shifting difficult since the differential will shift when the clutch is engaged and disengaged.

By replacing these bushings with full polyurethane, the movement is eliminated since the mounting point is supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. This means less stress on the driveshaft and axles and greater longevity of supporting components.

Expect improved acceleration response, more direct shifting feel and overall improved drivetrain composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings.

For a BMW X3 (2003-2010), if you're looking for front anti-roll bar bushings with a 22.5mm diameter, one well-regarded aftermarket option is Powerflex. Powerflex specializes in high-quality polyurethane bushings, which are more durable than traditional rubber bushings. These bushings help improve handling by reducing unwanted flex in the suspension components.

Here’s what you should consider when getting Powerflex bushings for your BMW X3:

    1. Material: Powerflex bushings are made from polyurethane, which offers better resistance to wear, deformation, and harsh conditions compared to OEM rubber.

    2. Fitment: Ensure that the 22.5mm size matches the diameter of your front anti-roll bar for your specific BMW X3 variant. This size typically fits certain versions of the 2003-2010 X3 models, but it’s always good to double-check with your specific vehicle's specifications.

    3. Improved Handling: Replacing your worn-out bushings with Powerflex ones can result in sharper handling and less body roll, especially during cornering.

These bushings are typically sold as a kit with two bushings (one for each side of the anti-roll bar), and installation may require some mechanical experience or a professional.

Differentials serve the key purpose of transmitting power from the driveshaft to the axles. Factory rubber bushings absorb some of this power to allow for cushy, comfortable acceleration, at the expense of performance. Many OEM differential bushings are fast-wearing and failure-prone, resulting in driveline slop and thunks when shifting or going over bumps. Your E36 Evo M3 will improve in: Improved Handling and Stability - Upgrading to an aftermarket rear differential front mount bushing can do wonders for your car's handling and stability. These bushings are designed with performance in mind, reducing unwanted movement of the differential. Reduced Wheel Hop - Wheel hop can be a drag, both figuratively and literally. An upgraded front mount bushing helps minimize wheel hop, especially during hard acceleration or aggressive driving. Say goodbye to that unsettling bounce and hello to smoother power delivery. Powerflex polyurethane differential bushings are firmer than OEM rubber bushings, eliminating associated driveline slop and allowing for the crisp application of power to the ground, resulting in better throttle response and control. Powerflex is the number one selling suspension bushing manufacturer in Europe. Their experience with polyurethane bushing material and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques allows them to produce premium performance bushings, made to exact-fit standards. Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings are built to last longer than OEM rubber bushings while improving performance and allowing for a more engaging driving experience. The use of Powerflex Copper Grease PCG1 is recommended for ease of installation. Periodic reapplication is recommended to extend the squeak-free service life of bushings. Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Need bushings for a car that's street-driven? The BMW 1502-2002 Tie Bar to Chassis Front Bushing is a key suspension component for classic BMW models manufactured from 1962 to 1977. This bushing connects the tie bar to the chassis, playing a crucial role in maintaining suspension stability and alignment.

    Key Features:

    1. Purpose:

      • The front bushing connects the tie bar, which helps manage lateral movement in the front suspension, to the chassis. It absorbs shocks and vibrations, ensuring a smoother ride and better handling.
    2. Material Composition:

      • Typically made from rubber, this bushing offers comfort and flexibility. However, many enthusiasts opt for polyurethane bushings, which provide greater durability and performance benefits, such as reduced flex and improved handling.
    3. Handling Characteristics:

      • Worn or degraded bushings can lead to poor handling, increased body roll, and unstable steering. Replacing these bushings restores proper suspension geometry, enhancing the overall driving experience and stability during cornering.
    4. Specific Fit for Classic Models:

      • Designed specifically for BMW 1502-2002 models, these bushings ensure a precise fit, allowing owners to maintain the classic driving characteristics and performance these vehicles are known for.
    5. Upgrade Options:

      • Upgrading to polyurethane bushings can improve suspension performance, making them ideal for those who engage in spirited driving or track use. They provide a firmer connection and greater resistance to wear.
    6. Installation Process:

      • Replacing the tie bar to chassis front bushing typically involves detaching the tie bar from the chassis. While it can be done as a DIY project, professional installation is often recommended to ensure proper alignment and fit.

    Benefits of Replacement or Upgrade:

    • Restored Handling Precision: New bushings improve the connection between the tie bar and chassis, resulting in better steering feedback and control.
    • Enhanced Comfort: Fresh bushings help absorb road imperfections, leading to a smoother and more enjoyable ride.
    • Increased Durability: Upgrading to polyurethane bushings enhances longevity and reduces the need for frequent replacements, maintaining optimal performance over time.

In summary, the Tie Bar to Chassis Front Bushing for the BMW 1502-2002 is essential for preserving the vehicle's suspension integrity and handling characteristics. Whether replacing worn-out bushings or upgrading to a more durable option, ensuring these components are in good condition is vital for enjoying the classic driving experience these BMWs offer.
