Brake Pad Wear Sensors

Brake pad wear sensors are a convenient part of the braking system, notifying the driver of when the material on the brake pads are getting low and need to be serviced. Unfortunately it is common in custom or upgraded braking systems that the pad wear sensor is non-existent or does not mate properly with the connector on your vehicle, leaving you with a brake pad wear warning every time you start your vehicle.

ECS Tuning has developed this direct-fit Brake Pad Wear Sensor Bypass to alleviate this issue. This sensor bypass will trick the vehicle's electronics into thinking that the brake pads have adequate pad material to keep the dashboard warning from appearing. No more unnecessary warnings when installing a big brake kit or your own custom setup. This bypass is a plug-and-play component that requires no modifications so you can revert back to your OEM setup if necessary.

Some vehicles may be equipped with two front brake pad wear sensors, or a front and rear sensor, please be sure to double check the required quantity for your vehicle before placing an order.

*During installation, make sure to clean the mated female connector on your vehicle of any dirt or debris to ensure that the Brake Pad Wear Sensor Bypass is engaged securely.

Replacement pad wear sensor, typically replaced when changing brake pads. If your brake lining warning is activated, the sensor will need to be replaced.

Brake pad wear sensor should be replaced at ever brake service, even if not worn down. This ensures the sensor is as new as possible and less likely to fail due to built up corrosion.

MINI F55 to F57 Brake Pad Sensor - Front

The MINI F55 to F57 Brake Pad Sensor - Front acts as a critical wear indicator for your brake pads. This sensor alerts drivers when the brake pads are worn down and need replacement, helping to prevent potential damage and ensure safety. When the brake pads deteriorate, the sensor wears down and eventually triggers a warning light, indicating that the sensor must be replaced.
