Emissions System

After the introduction of the M52TU/M54 engines, BMW observed an uptick in CCV-related issues, especially in cold regions. Vehicles operating in extremely low temperatures often encountered a blockage in the CCV dipstick hose, leading to elevated crankcase pressure and visible blue smoke from the exhaust. To address this issue, BMW introduced cold climate-specific hoses with foam insulation, preventing condensation and facilitating quicker oil warm-up. This kit incorporates top-notch reproduction cold climate hoses to ensure optimal CCV performance across all weather conditions.

The crankcase ventilation valve, known as the oil separator, PCV, CCV, or crankcase pressure regulator valve, plays a vital role in redirecting oil from your vehicle's intake system back into the engine oil pan. This system comprises numerous plastic and rubber hoses, prone to damage due to prolonged exposure to chemicals and heat.

Designed to tackle or prevent impending CCV system failures, this kit includes four foam-insulated hoses made from durable plastic capable of withstanding heat fluctuations and chemical exposure. Additionally, a new ventilation valve is included for a comprehensive and long-lasting repair solution.

Signs indicating the need for crankcase ventilation system replacement include:

Whistling sounds from the intake manifold, caused by crankcase pressure venting through holes in the CCV hoses. Blue smoke emitting from the tailpipe, indicating oil consumption. Excessive oil usage. Milky or yellowish buildup under the oil cap, suggesting condensation due to ventilation valve malfunction. If you're experiencing misfires, lean fuel codes, decreased fuel efficiency, or noticeable oil consumption, it's advisable to overhaul your crankcase ventilation system. Opt for this reliable system from Febi-Bilstein for a repair that meets factory standards and ensures consistent performance.

Rubber breather pipes in various BMW applications are susceptible to cracking. Over time, engine heat and weather conditions can weaken these hoses, leading to breaks or leaks. This results in significant vacuum leaks that can severely affect engine performance.

Moreover, BMW faces a problem with oil separators freezing in cold weather, particularly if the engine isn't adequately warmed up during driving. Typical signs include a howling noise and subsequent oil leaks.

Restore proper engine ventilation with this premium replacement Crankcase Breather Valve (11127809512).

Designed to match the performance of the original BMW unit (OE 11-12-7-809-512 / 11-12-7-803-790), this valve maintains correct crankcase pressure, helps prevent oil buildup, and supports clean, efficient engine operation.

Crafted from high-quality, long-lasting materials and shaped to replicate the factory design, it installs easily in place of the stock breather without any modifications required.

Whether you’re addressing pressure-related drivability issues, refreshing your engine’s ventilation system, or performing preventative maintenance, this breather valve provides dependable performance and protects your BMW’s engine for the long haul.

Upgrade your N14 N18 1.6L Engine with the Vent Hose. This hose connects to the top valve cover with a special hose clip end and extends to the bottom side of the intake manifold, ensuring optimal performance of your Mini. It's a crucial component of the intake system, designed to enhance engine efficiency and longevity.

• Ensures proper ventilation of the engine
• Connects securely to the valve cover and intake manifold
• Facilitates efficient airflow within the engine compartment
• Compatible with N14 N18 1.6L Engine models
• Easy to install and replace as needed

The engine crankcase breather hose is a vital part of the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system, responsible for directing pressurized air from the engine crankcase to the air/oil separator, also known as the PCV valve. This separator removes oil vapors from the air, allowing the oil to return to the engine while feeding the filtered air back into the intake system to support efficient combustion.

As a byproduct of the combustion process, positive crankcase pressure naturally builds up in the engine. The breather hose operates under constant exposure to heat, pressure, and an air/oil vapor mixture, making it prone to wear and failure over time. Ensuring the breather hose is in proper working condition is crucial for maintaining engine performance, adhering to emissions standards, and preserving the functionality of the PCV system. Promptly replace this component at the first signs of damage or degradation to avoid further complications.

This is the BMW crankcase return line that goes from the intake manifold to the top CCV connecting hose. We also offer a complete CCV repair kit
