This strut and shock mount package covers the front and rear rubber mounts and bushings commonly replaced during a strut and shock install. While you're installing new front struts and rear shocks these are easily installed - there's no additional labor and special tools are not required. Since these pieces are mostly rubber, they dry up and crack over time. Re-using them lead to problems with fitment or noise, and may have safety issues as well. These mounts and pads are the perfect complement to your new shocks to help restore your car's handling and performance.

We sell the basic strut and shock mount package, which includes:

Front strut mounts (also known as guide support)

Front strut reinforcement plates (to prevent cracking and deforming of the front strut towers)

Front and rear self-locking mounting nuts

Rear Lifetime Warranty 'Repair Shop' shock mounts

Rear shock mount reinforcements (to prevent cracking of shock towers)

Rear shock mount gaskets
In addition, you can add the front spring pads, front bump stops, front dust boots, rear bump stops, and rear dust boots if needed. But please note that some shocks and coil overs come with all or some of these pieces already. If in doubt, check with your supplier on what is included.

We offer three varieties of the rear shock mounts - OEM, Repair Shop, and HP alum-rubber. We recommend either the Repair Shop or HP mounts because the stock OEM design has a flaw that can lead to premature failure of the mounts. The Repair Shop and HP mounts use a different design that will last longer and the Repair Shop mounts also have a lifetime warranty!

Our control arm bearings utilize a unique grease-able spherical bearing that is both serviceable and replaceable, with integrated dust seals to help keep dirt and moisture out. This bearing offers considerable improvement in both precision and durability compared to other unsealed poly and delrin bushing inserts previously available, which can wear prematurely due to contamination. The bearing assembly utilizes the highest quality materials, precision machining quality, and components to ensure a perfect fit and longest lasting component life possible. These Turner rear trailing arm bushings (RTAB) now feature a much sought after sealed design. Turner recognized the popularity of their original RTAB design as well as the customer demand for this sealed upgrade, ultimately utilizing the same concept at the front control arm monoballs. A sealed design means not only that contaminants such as salt, grit, and road debris will not affect the bearing, but also means they require no lubrication or maintenance - ever! Adding strut reinforcement plates will help prevent the deformation of the strut tower and possible cracking. Upgrading the rear shock mounts and adding reinforcement plates is highly recommended because of the known failures with the mounts ripping apart. Replacing the lower trailing arm bushings with a ball joint will not only give a more solid feel in the suspension but last longer due to its rubber seal design. The first step in reducing bodyroll and making this car faster through turns is to replace the shocks and springs. The lower, stiffer H&R Sport springs for the 535i will lower the ride height and manage weight transfer better than the stock suspension. We package these H&R Springs with a set of Bilstein Sport shocks for a complete upgrade in a discounted package.

H&R Sport springs lower the ride height by 1.3" in front and 0.75" in the rear and stiffens the spring rate. Both combine to lower the car's center of gravity and reduce the amount of bodyroll in corners. The springs are progressive rate so their initial stiffness is actually very compliant and it becomes stiffer as the spring is compressed. This is great for street cars that see bumps and potholes where suspension compliance is key. Overall, they are about 40% stiffer than the stock original springs.

We use Bilstein Sport shocks as the dampers and they feature Bilstein's patented and innovative valving system. On the E34, suspension travel is crucial especially with a lowered ride height. This suspension is stiff but delivers uncompromising handling. These fit with the stock strut and shock mounts, making for an easy and clean install. Because BMW used multiple combinations of front strut and strut mount we will need specific information from your car in order to send you the correct parts.

The rubber parts that mount the front struts and rear shocks to the chassis suffer from age and mileage just like any other rubber part on the car. Over time they become weak and sloppy and that leads to poor ride characteristics, alignment issues, poor steering feedback and the associated clunks and other noises.

This set of stock mounts replaces the original worn-out shock mounts, bushings, bearings, bump stops, and pads on your existing suspension. This package includes all of the original parts used in the E39 factory sport suspension. If you're overhauling your E39 suspension with the factory sport shocks and springs this is the mount package you need (see our other listings if you're using performance shocks such as Bilstein). Installing new mounts with new struts and shocks will ensure proper performance and avoid doing the labor twice if a used mount fails soon after. These are all factory BMW or OEM parts so they fit right and perform just like the factory original parts.

This mount package contains all of the commonly replaced rubber mounts and pads for the front and rear shocks on a 1999-2005 E46 3-series (not for M3 or xi AWD). While you're installing new front struts and rear shocks these are easily installed - there's no additional labor and special tools are not required. Since these pieces are mostly rubber, they dry up and crack over time. Re-using them lead to problems with fitment or noise, and may have safety issues as well. These mounts and pads are the perfect complement to your new shocks to help restore your car's handling and performance.

Part of maintaining the precision and crisp handling of your BMW is with refreshing the shock mounts from time to time. The rubber parts that mount the front struts and rear shocks to the chassis suffer from age and mileage just like any other rubber part on the car. Over time they become weak and sloppy and that leads to poor ride characteristics, alignment issues, poor steering feedback and the associated clunks and other noises.

This set of stock mounts replaces the original worn-out shock mounts, bushings, bearings, bump stops, and pads on your existing suspension. We have built this package specifically for use with an aftermarket performance suspension such as our Bilstein/H&R package or other similar performance shocks and springs. This makes a great package when upgrading the non-sport package as the original standard mounts and bushings were not designed for the sport/performance suspension. Installing new mounts with new struts and shocks will ensure proper performance and avoid doing the labor twice if a used mount fails soon after. These are all factory BMW or OEM parts so they fit right and perform just like the factory original parts.

front strut mount

front upper cupped washer (lower dust cap)

front upper spring plate

front upper spring pad

front lower spring pad

rear upper cupped washer

rear shock mount

rear upper spring pad

rear lower cupped washer

rear bump stop

rear lower spring pad note: front bump stops are not included in this package because our Bilstein/H&R suspension includes its own internal bump stops

Note for 1997-1999 528i, 540i: BMW had a factory recall to replace the front struts and lower spring perches on pre-2000 528i and 540i models. The lower spring perch was redesigned to be stronger and our mount kits cover front struts that have already been replaced under this recall. If yours has not been done we strongly recommend contacting your BMW dealer and having the recall and replacement parts installed. This does not apply to most aftermarket struts, including Bilstein, as their spring perch incorporates the new design.
