Rear trailing arm bushings serve the key purpose of keeping rear suspension triangulated and the vehicle moving where it's directed to. Though failure prone, even factory-fresh OEM rubber bushings allow for deflection, causing suspension geometry changes on hard launches, over bumps in the road, and during cornering. This deflection results in clunking in the rear end, a “rear steer” feeling, and uneven tire wear.

Powerflex polyurethane rear trailing arm bushings are firmer than OEM bushings, resulting in a reduction of deflection that causes these suspension angle changes, improving handling over bumps and with a proper alignment, extending tire wear.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

Sway bars transmit cornering forces from the outside wheels to the inside wheels, helping to keep the vehicle flat during cornering. This, in turn, reduces body roll and improves the driver's cornering confidence. OEM rubber sway bar bushings are designed with comfort in mind, allowing the sway bar to articulate while permitting additional movement, leading to less-than-ideal bar retention and causes unnecessary body roll.

Powerflex polyurethane sway bar bushings are firmer than factory rubber bushings, reducing body roll and keeping sway bars in check. Polyurethane bushings won't slop around like OEM bushings, allowing sway bars to function at their fullest potential.

The Powerflex Front Sway Bar Bushings - 28.2mm (Black Series) for the BMW F10/F11 5 Series are a specialized upgrade designed for drivers who seek high-performance handling and stability, especially in demanding driving conditions like track days or spirited road use.

Key Highlights:

  1. Black Series - Track-Ready Performance: The Black Series bushings are engineered for maximum rigidity, offering far less flex than the original rubber bushings. This increased stiffness allows the sway bar to function more effectively, improving the car’s resistance to body roll and delivering a sharper, more responsive steering feel. These bushings are built for those pushing their cars to the limit on the track.

  2. Precise Handling Improvement: By upgrading the front sway bar bushings to these Black Series units, you will notice a marked improvement in handling precision. The front end becomes more composed during hard cornering, providing better feedback and quicker responses to driver inputs, crucial for high-performance driving scenarios.

  3. Superior Polyurethane Construction: Unlike factory rubber bushings that tend to degrade with time and exposure to the elements, Powerflex's polyurethane is designed to last. It resists cracking, shrinking, and softening from heat, oil, and road debris, ensuring consistent performance throughout its life. This means less maintenance and fewer replacements over time.

  4. Optimized Suspension Dynamics: These bushings ensure the sway bar stays firmly in place, allowing it to do its job of reducing body roll during sharp turns or fast driving. As a result, the car feels more stable and balanced, providing more confidence when pushing it on twisty roads or track circuits.

  5. Durability and Longevity: Built with motorsport use in mind, the Black Series bushings provide extended durability compared to stock rubber components. They maintain their form and stiffness even under high loads, making them a long-term solution for drivers who need reliability and performance in extreme conditions.

  6. Direct OEM Fit: These bushings are designed to be a direct replacement for the factory units on the 28.2mm front sway bar of the BMW F10/F11 5 Series. Installation is straightforward, making this an easy yet effective upgrade to enhance suspension performance.

Applications:

  • BMW F10 5 Series (2010-2016)
  • BMW F11 5 Series Touring (2010-2017)

If you're looking to elevate the handling of your BMW F10/F11 to track-ready levels, these Powerflex Black Series Front Sway Bar Bushings offer a significant performance boost. By enhancing the stability and responsiveness of your suspension, they make your BMW feel sharper and more controlled, transforming it into a more capable machine in high-demand driving environments.

Differential bushings are responsible for keeping the differential in solid alignment while dampening drivetrain vibration. While OE rubber bushings are fine when they are new from the factory, aged and worn out rubber bushings create a multitude of issues that can range from annoying to dangerous. As a factory bushing ages, it begins to harden and become brittle. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow for movement at the differential mounting point. At this point, the differential is free to shift under load causing a noticeable clunking noise under acceleration and deceleration and massively increasing the stress on the driveshaft and axles. Manual transmissions suffer the worst from this as it can make shifting difficult since the differential will shift when the clutch is engaged and disengaged.

By replacing these bushings with full polyurethane, the movement is eliminated since the mounting point is supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. This means less stress on the driveshaft and axles and greater longevity of supporting components.

Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Tasked with keeping the vehicles rear end firmly mounted while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber subframe bushings were engineered to provide a balance of control while keeping the ride quality soft and supple. As a factory bushings age, they become brittle and begin to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play, or movement in the subframe. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk or "thunking" noise under acceleration and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushings with full polyurethane this play is eliminated since the subframe is being held in place by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering and acceleration inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Powerflex street bushings are ideal for street driven vehicles and those that see occasional autocross or track time. Need bushings for a dedicated track car? MMX Performance Lowering Springs for the BMW G42 230i strike the ideal balance between sharper handling and a more aggressive stance, all without compromising ride comfort. With a drop of approximately 20mm at the front and 15mm at the rear, the G42 gains a more planted feel, offering improved responsiveness, lighter dynamics, and noticeably crisper turn-in. Lowering the car’s centre of gravity makes a real difference to the way it drives. Body roll is noticeably reduced, turn-in feels sharper, and overall dynamics are greatly improved, all while retaining the comfort and refinement you’d expect from a BMW. Thanks to carefully chosen progressive spring rates, low-speed ride quality remains smooth and, in fact, actually feels more composed around town. But push on and the G42’s chassis comes alive: it feels lighter on its feet, more direct, and properly responsive through the corners. Just what the 230i needed. Visually, the difference is just as striking. The lower ride height gives the car a more aggressive, purposeful stance without being over-the-top. Go any lower or firmer than these, and you risk upsetting the balance, leading to a crashy, unsettled ride. That’s why MMX Springs are engineered specifically to work in harmony with both static and Adaptive M dampers. Features: 20mm front / 15mm rear drop for a sportier stance. Sharpened handling with reduced body roll. Smooth ride quality thanks to progressive spring rates. More responsive chassis feel at higher speeds. Compatible with adaptive & static dampers. No bouncing or crashing – perfectly matched spring rates Premium Metallic Grey finish Direct fit for BMW 230i G42

Macht Schnell's aluminum bushing kit will breathe new life into aging 1M's and M3's, affixing the car's rear subframe and differential to the chassis. Rubber subframe bushings in the E9x M3 and E82 1M from the factory are soft, and yield under hard driving resulting in ever-changing suspension geometry and alignment specs. By limiting the movement of both the car's subframe and differential, these solid bushings will give the rear of the car a tremendously planted and confident feel.

Powerflex street bushings are ideal for street driven vehicles and those that see occasional autocross or track time. Need bushings for a dedicated track car? Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

Poweflex is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension bushings. Using state of the art design and manufacturing, all replacement bushings are engineered to out-perform and out-last the ones that came in the car. Each line of bushings is meticulously tested and then re-tested to ensure perfect fitment and enduring quality through the life of the vehicle. A full lifetime warranty backs every one of their products and demonstrates the level of confidence and commitment Powerflex has to their customers.

This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. Trailing arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings.

OEM end links were designed to compliment standard ride height but when this is changed the car will now be pulling your anti-roll bar ends up, pushing it out of its operating window, and forcing the link to sit at a sharper angle. MMR Performance adjustable drop links are an essential upgrade to any lowered or performance car. When you lower your BMW without changing out your swaybar end links, a significant amount of preload is applied to the swaybar. This can negatively affect the handling characteristics of your vehicle and cause unwanted stress on a number of other suspension components.
