This is the driver's side seat base used to fit aftermarket bucket seats in your E36 coupe. This seat bracket does have a tab to retain your factory seat belts if you wish - we recommend silders for people who intend on using their vehicle on the street, but if your vehicle is a dedicated track vehicle, then universal side mounts should suffice.

Note that there is a separate part number for the Sparco passenger side seat base, and that this is only for COUPE models.

Racing and aftermarket seats require a mount to afix the seat to the chassis of the car. Most Recaro seats are 'side-mount' which means the brackets attach to the side of the seat and then turn 90 degrees to mount to the floor (or sliders). These are genuine Recaro side mounts that are FIA-certified for optimum safety and security. Many racing organizations require an FIA-approved mount. Sold as a pair with hardware included. Choose from standard steel or light weigt aluminum. Choose from Steel or aluminum above. We recommend aluminum to those who are trying to save weight in their build.

The BMW F30/F80 harness mount bar has been tested and certified by an independent lab to handle the types of forces required by the National Highway Traffic Safety Admin. DOT and SAE J385 Rev.MAR 95, Motor Vehicle Seat Belt Anchorages-Performance Requirements. The BMW F30/F80 harness mount bar properly locates and supports racing shoulder harnesses relative to the driver. In the case of an accident, it helps protect the driver's shoulders and spine. The harness guides also prevent excessive shifting and fatigue of the driver during the high G loads of cornering and braking. Our bars are easy to install and remove, use only existing holes and mounting points, and will not damage the car in any way. Strength requirements for harness mounts are considerably greater than those for harness guide bars since they must support the entire load applied to the belts. A mount really can't be relied on unless it has been tested to support the loads required by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Brey-Krause Harness Mount supported the loads specified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Admin. DOT for upper torso restraints in all automobiles. Tensile tests performed by an independent lab.

This OMP racing seat mounting bracket is made to specifically to secure a racing seat in your E36 coupe. Using stock mounting points, it eliminates the need to weld or modify your floor in any way. Using stock mounting positions is also safer in that they are proven to hold up by the manufacturer in crash tests when the car is designed. Poorly mounted brackets could cause thin metal to tear, split, or buckle if not properly reinforced, leading directly to injury in critical situations.

The Planted Seat Bracket is a vehicle specific bracket used as an adapter between the floor of the vehicle and an aftermarket seat and it's accessories. Because the floor of each vehicle varies and typically is not flat, a vehicle specific Seat Bracket is required for installing an aftermarket seat. Planted creates each seat bracket using the floor of the vehicle as a reference. Each vehicle is brought into our development center so we can create the best fitting, bolt in, universal seat bracket possible. Planted Seat Brackets are laser cut from 3/16 inch thick steel and hand welded to ensure weld penetration for superior strength. Each bracket is pre-slotted with hole patterns to accept sliders from most major seat manufacturers like Braum, Bride*, Cipher Auto, Cobra**, Corbeau, Momo, NRG, OMP, Racetech, Recaro, Sabelt, Sparco, Status Racing, Takata and more. There is extra space on the bracket for drilling your own hole pattern if using a slider with a less common hole pattern, or direct mounting a seat or side mount when eliminating sliders is preferred. They are finished with a black powder coat. *Bride sliders are generally made to be vehicle specific so need to have the "feet" removed to make them "universal." Bride sliders typically require drilling a new hole pattern into the Planted Seat Bracket because they come in many different widths. **Cobra sliders come in Narrow and Wide versions.
