The ECS Tuning Luft-Technik Intake System for the BMW G01 X3 M40i and G02 X4 M40i replaces restrictive factory airbox components to increase volumetric efficiency and feed dense air directly to the B58 turbocharger.
Factory intake housings utilize sound-dampening mufflers and restrictive ducting that create turbulence and limit air volume under boost. The ECS Tuning Luft-Technik Intake System resolves these restrictions by combining a heavy-duty 12-gauge aluminum heat shield with a smooth-bore 84mm inner-diameter wire-reinforced silicone inlet tube. This architecture shields intake air from radiant engine heat, eliminates hose collapse, and maximizes air velocity to the turbo inlet while amplifying natural induction sound.
