BMW has an ongoing issue with oil separators freezing in cold weather if driving is done before the vehicle is fully warmed up. There is often a howling noise followed by numerous oil leaks. The crankcase breather valve is used to purge the oil vapor from the engine block into the valve cover. However, sometimes condensation can cause it to freeze, causing the entire oil separator system to fail, crack, and disintegrate. Replace all the components of the oil separator system together to prevent damage to all the aspects of your engine. As long as you have everything off, you can rest assured that new parts will last and be reliable. Don't forget to order a valve cover gasket to make your separator change easier.

Introducing the E9X M3 Carbon Fiber Plenum from Eventuri. Made from 100% high-grade prepreg carbon, including the internal trumpets, this plenum replaces the stock plastic version and unleashes the roar of the naturally aspirated BMW V8 engine. Since the trumpet lengths are tuned by BMW to the internal volume, changing this could result in a loss of performance, so Eventuri kept the same volume to not upset the way the car drives in terms of power delivery. Although there isn’t a performance gain from the carbon plenum, the induction sound generated takes the driving experience of the M3 to a whole new level. The raw V8 rumble gives the M3 an almost CSL like sound and is a truly intoxicating experience. The CSL Airbox is one of the most demanded improvements among BMW M3 E46 enthusiasts. That is both for performance gain and for the sound it brings to the car. On the other hand, it is a laborious, time-consuming, and expensive modification. For those who are looking for a similar sound to the CSL airbox but are not looking for HP gain, we have developed the Karbonius OEM Style S54 airbox. It is a simplified version of the CSL airbox, that, apart from a louder sound from the engine (+12 dB compared to plastic OEM), gives an awesome appearance and allows for easy installation using the stock elbow and MAF sensor. No need to remap! Regarding power increase, we got +4HP in a recent dyno test compared with the OEM airbox. Not really significant considering that dynos can have a 2% margin error. In conclusion, and pending new tests in the future, we can say no significant power increase and no HP loss.
