Drivers can expect an 11 lb weight savings compared to stock. In place of the 180 Technology® resonators in the rear are dual Track Edition straight sections. As a result, this version is known to get (really) rowdy in mid-range acceleration and deceleration and may be too much for many. The Supersprint rear mufflers for the turbo Z4 is a subtle sound and performance improvement for those that think the stock muffler is too tame. This sport rear muffler is a free-flowing design with larger piping to improve flow and tune the sound. With the stock cats in place the sound is still subdued but the Supersprint muffler makes an alteration to the exhaust note to be a little more sporty and aggressive but not intrusive or obnoxious. This system includes the center X-pipe with slightly oversized piping for improved flow over the stock system. This system uses two exhaust tips per side, giving more muscle and presence like BMW uses on their "M" models.

This system is the result of countless hours of R&D to obtain the perfect combination of performance and sound. Constructed of 100% 304 TIG welded stainless steel, they have created a modular exhaust system that will provide enough flow to support power levels way above the stock M2 Competition. When installed as a complete unit, the exhaust diameter of our system never shrinks below 3.5” The rear section splits from a single 3.5” pipe in to dual 3.5” pipes; one of which is valved and leads straight to the exhaust tips with the other leading to a straight through muffler that reduces noise levels when the valve is closed. The Y-pipe is hand built to maintain maximum exhaust velocity throughout the entire system. With the reduced back pressure and large single-pipe design you can expect exhaust velocity to remain as high as possible throughout the entire system. The design is also capable of handling much higher power levels than stock. It’s over engineered to have no issues handling the increased exhaust volume from extensive modifications including turbo upgrades. The stock M2 Competition sounds great, but there’s always room for improvement! They configured 7 different muffler and resonator setups before settling on the final product. With the valve closed the system is slightly louder than stock but with a great note. With the valve open it’s significantly louder but without the metallic, hollow sound of a full straight pipe exhaust. Constructed from high-grade lightweight titanium alloys, the Evolution Line (Titanium) exhaust system has been perfectly tuned to deliver the very best aural experience in all driving modes. Through extensive testing and development, the Akrapovič sound engineers have coaxed a deep, sporty, higher-frequency V8 sound from the car’s turbo engine, more akin to that of a muscle car, while keeping it smooth and eliminating any drone that might hamper the enjoyment. The full titanium exhaust system is finished with two sets of carbon-fibre / titanium tailpipes coming from a central muffler layout featuring two valves, one located on either side of the muffler. The housings are cast in-house in the Akrapovič foundry, and there is a cast collector on the link pipe, where gases from both sides of the engine mix, all designed to create a perfect sound. This plug-and-play exhaust system can be further regulated with the addition of the Akrapovič Sound Kit to control the valves in the exhaust and switch between the sound modes.
