The B4 Series shocks and struts are rigorously engineered to meet OE standards and identically replicate the original ride quality of your vehicle. The Bilstein B8 Performance Plus Kit includes two front struts and two rear shocks. These shocks are for use with lowered springs such as from H&R or Eibach. We do not recommend that you use them with any factory spring, including factory sport package springs. With the increased damping rates from stock you will have much more control over body motions. These will give a much more buttoned down and taut feeling with lowering springs compared to stock shocks.

Air springs replace traditional coil springs in your vehicle's suspension system, providing the ability to automatically adjust the spring rate and ride height by inflating or deflating the spring assembly as needed. This ensures a smooth ride and optimal handling across various driving conditions.

However, over time, air springs can develop leaks, compromising their ability to maintain the necessary air pressure. When this happens, the suspension may fail to keep the vehicle level or provide a smooth ride.

Due to their soft rubber construction, OE strut mounts are known to wear at an accelerated rate. Many high-mileage vehicles fall victim to strut mount failure, which is commonly associated with annoying clunks, groans, or rattles from the front suspension.

With this issue in mind, ECS Tuning developed their heavy-duty front strut mount with upgraded, higher durometer rubber to resolve sloppy handling and increase longevity. Manufactured precisely within OEM tolerances, these mounts are a perfect fit for your BMW.

This upper shock tower strut mount is located at the top of the shock. We recommend inspecting or replacing these while replacing the rear shocks.
