This version is sourced directly from the shared PSA/MINI Cooper Engine, courtesy of PSA Peugeot Citro?n. Notably, it is functionally identical to the Genuine MINI part but comes conveniently packaged in a PSA box.
Before ordering, check whether you need round or flat pin connectors for your MINI's coil pack. The type of pin is determined by the connectors that link the coil to the wiring harness. To check, slide the red locking tab to the right, press down on the tab, and pull the connector off the coil. Examine the pins to see if they are flat or round. Reattach the connector by pushing it back on until it clicks, then slide the red locking tab back to the locked position.
This high-performance coil pack is a popular upgrade among MINI owners looking to enhance their vehicle's performance over the stock coil. The installation requires removing the factory bolts from the old coil and modifying the MSD factory sleeves by drilling out 1/16" to fit the stock bolts.
