VTT is proud to offer their billet replacement for the factory plastic vacuum tanks that store vacuum from the pump and use it to regulate boost via the solenoids. The stock plastic can and small plastic nipples on the stock cans have a tendency to crank over time, and if they leak you will get low boost, or no boost, and poor performance. These cans do away with the weak plastic cans while adding some pop, and color to your engine bay. These vacuum cans retain ALL of the factory provisions including mounting points but come with 90-degree fittings for easier routing of the lines VTT's cans are made of 6061-T6 aluminum, and anodized in 4 colors for beauty, and long life. **The turbo blanket can change color hue due to production batches ** It has not been installed or run prior. The Forge Motorsport FMTUBL4 has been specifically designed for the MINI R55-R61 Cooper S/JCW stock turbo charger. This turbo blanket is designed to isolate the radiant heat produced by the turbocharger. The stock MINI heat shield is inadequate and can result in warping the standard air scoop located in the bonnet. This design has been created to withstand the harshest of environments and proven to withstand temperatures up to 2500 °f of radiant heat which will assist in protecting and prolonging the life of engine components. Design innovation keeps the heat of the exhaust gases contained within the hot side of the turbocharger, away from the cool side and the intake path which helps reduce turbo lag and air intake temperatures resulting in more power. Please note that a turbo blanket will lose its flexibility over the first few heat cycles as the material cures, so once fitted it should not be routinely removed as this can cause damage to the blanket. It can also change color due to heat cycles.

This Boost Leak Tester kit mounts inside both of the flexible intake hoses that lead to your turbo's compressor inlet flanges. You will need to remove the air box (or your aftermarket air filters) to expose the 2 intake pipes. Install the testers in each pipe and pressurize the system using the tire schrader with your tire inflation tool. The kit comes with the necessary caps to block the diverter valve return flanges on the intake pipes, also a cap to block the breather line at the bakc of the valve cover. Once the kit is installed, use compressed air to charge the system and you will see that both gauges read the compressor pressure you are filling with. You'll be able to test the turbo to the motor checking all leak points in between, including intercooler, clamped connections, intake manifold, divertor valves and the many random potential leak points. Note: Testing at the intake pipe, you may hear noise coming from the o-ring (at ~12 psi test pressure) that seals the intake pipe to the turbo inlet from debris. This is not a boost leak, these are not meant to see boost and not intended to be perfectly sealed, however hearing this hissing may be mis-diagnosed as a leak. In this case reduce the pressure. If no obvious leaks are heard in any other location, the test is complete and there are no significant leaks The gauge on the boost leak tester allows the user to: apply a safe amount of pressure to prevent injury or damage to the charge pipes or engine read how fast the system holds and bleeds air after removing the air source give a good comparison of compressor outlet air Vs. boost test air while pressurizing. This fitting adds two 1/8" NPT bungs to accept any fitting that has 1/8" NPT threads. You can choose three configuration options: Fitting by itself Fitting with one 1/4" barb and one plug Fitting with two 1/4" barbs Once installed it tucks perfectly under your engine cover. These are perfect for running your PI switch off manifold pressure, which is much more accurate than the charge pipe, and they are also great for BOVs running the proper size line without having to drill a hole in your manifold. Ensure proper sealing when installing the turbos on your N54. Kit includes: 16 - ASA M7x39 studs 16 - Flange nuts All required gaskets and o-rings Water pump install hardware Replacement vacuum hose T-bolt clamps Helpful hints: For complete installation instructions, refer to Haynes Service Manual (ES2500921). Both downpipes must be removed to remove either front or rear turbo. Tie rod end may need to be separated from knuckle for clearance. Steering rack may also need to be rotated away from subframe for access. Valve cover heat shield will need to loosened and pushed upward to get clearance for turbo manifold removal. If studs back out of cylinder head and nuts are seized to studs, replace studs. Thread studs in to head by hand to prevent cross threading. When installing the new studs in the cylinder head, use a high temperature loctite in the cylinder head side, and copper anti-seize on the nut side. To make more room for access to the front turbo, remove the rubber line running in front of the subframe that attaches to the back of the map thermostat and remove the clip. Cut off the OEM clamp and replace it with a new hose clamp as well. Complete removal of the water pump is not required. Detach the water pump from the side of the block and push it out of the way to make more room for access to the front turbo. If water pump is unbolted from the block, the aluminum bolts must be replaced. Torque specs: Bracket to cylinder head: 9Nm Coolant supply line to crankcase: 9Nm Coolant return line to crankcase: 8Nm Coolant return line to turbo: 8Nm Coolant supply line to supply line: 8Nm Exhaust manifold heat shield: 8Nm Oil supply line to crankcase: 20Nm Oil pressure line to turbo: 8Nm Oil return line to crankcase: 8Nm Oil return line to turbo: 8Nm Turbo manifold to head: 20Nm
