Our Heavy Duty Aluminum Expansion Tank was designed, engineered, tested, and quality inspected by our Research & Development team. Our development process includes leading-edge product technology: FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long-term product testing.

The N20/n26 engined cars already suffer from reduced cooling area because of the factory intercooler, tight space under the hood, and of course heat from the turbo(s). BMW addressed these challenges a number of ways, including a dynamic, 'smart' electric water pump with increased output compared to normally aspirated models. The cooling demands mean additional stress on the major cooling components, especially the water pump and thermostat.

BMWs turbocharged S55 engine uses a water-to-air charge air cooling system, with a front-mounted heat exchanger responsible for heat dissipation. Unfortunately, the factory single-row, 27mm core design is quick to heat soak under high load, leading to excessive intake air temperatures and potential limp mode conditions especially on modified or track-driven cars.

To solve this issue, we've developed a drop-in upgrade over the factory unit. Engineered for durability and maximum cooling efficiency, this heat exchanger is a must-have for high-horsepower street builds, spirited canyon driving, and extended track sessions. Built from TIG-welded 5052 aluminum, our design eliminates the factory plastic end tanks one of the systems most common failure points. Each heat exchanger features CNC-machined billet aluminum hose connections, mounting flanges, and brackets for perfect OE fitment and trouble-free installation.

By replacing the OEM 27mm single-row core with a robust 35mm dual-row design, this heat exchanger dramatically increases both cooling capacity and surface area. Frontal area jumps from 307mm to 475mm, resulting in a 100% increase in coolant volume and significantly improved heat-soak resistance. The outcome? BMW's newest high-performance powertrain—the S58B30—has proven to be an extremely durable platform built to last! Unfortunately, its factory oil cooler location is an egregious weak link in an otherwise bulletproof oiling system. Positioned just inches above the ground, the engine oil cooler is vulnerable to damage from debris, potholes, parking blocks, and other unavoidable road hazards. A single impact has the potential to rupture the cooler’s delicate aluminum fins and tubes, resulting in rapid oil loss and catastrophic low oil pressure. The only factory protection for this part is a flimsy undertray.

To safeguard the oil cooler, we've engineered a high-strength Aluminum Skid Plate for the F97 X3M and F98 X4M. Designed for peak performance and protection, our skid plate acts as a shield, preventing damage to the oil cooler while maintaining proper cooling efficiency.

Crafted from 4GA (4.83mm) 5052 aluminum, our skid plate delivers a perfect balance of strength and weight savings. Unlike the fragile factory plastic belly pan, our design forms a protective barrier from the front bumper to the front subframe, shielding your oil cooler and other fragile componentry from unexpected impacts. Its sturdy one-piece design enhances underbody rigidity without adding unnecessary weight over the front axle.

At Turner Motorsport, we believe protection shouldn't come at the cost of performance. Our engineers aimed to outperform the factory undertray design with laser-cut air channels that optimize airflow through the oil cooler. While located under the engine, the oil cooler receives its fresh airflow from the front air dam. Air flows through the lower front grille, into the oil cooler core, and out of the skid plate. The factory belly pan allows air to bypass the core, leading to inefficient cooling and mediocre airflow at speed. Our design allows for efficient heat dissipation by incorporating flared air channels, which guide cool air through the oil cooler and deflect road debris before it can reach the fragile core.

The 6-speed Getrag 420G transmission, found in the European E36 M3 Evolution and E46 M3, has become an increasingly popular swap amongst E36 owners. Its increased strength, longevity, and overdrive sixth gear make it a great choice for both track cars and daily drivers. Unfortunately, many of the components needed to complete this transplant have become hard to source. Despite increased demand from enthusiasts, BMW has blocked the sale of European E36 M3 parts into North America.

Recognizing this issue, we set out to develop a replacement for the unavailable, 420G-specific transmission crossbrace. Our initial investigation revealed that the factory cast aluminum construction was failure-prone, so durable 5GA 1018 steel was chosen to provide a lasting upgrade. The Turner Motorsport Heavy-Duty Transmission Crossmember is finished in a brilliant silver powder coat to resist corrosion and maximize appearance. Despite being much stronger than the factory crossmember, our design is dimensionally identical, ensuring a perfect fit with your six-speed swap.

Looking to free up horsepower and upgrade your cooling? Then this Electric Fan Conversion kit is the perfect choice! The fan and clutch that connect to the water pump add additional rotating mass to the drive line. By removing them and converting your system to an electric fan, the engine has to do less work, giving you that extra little bit of power.
