Control arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

Sway bars transmit cornering forces from the outside wheels to the inside wheels, helping to keep the vehicle flat during cornering. This, in turn, reduces body roll and improves the driver's cornering confidence. OEM rubber sway bar bushings are designed with comfort in mind, allowing the sway bar to articulate while permitting additional movement, leading to less-than-ideal bar retention and causes unnecessary body roll.

Powerflex polyurethane sway bar bushings are firmer than factory rubber bushings, reducing body roll and keeping sway bars in check. Polyurethane bushings won't slop around like OEM bushings, allowing sway bars to function at their fullest potential.

Differential bushings are responsible for keeping the differential in solid alignment while dampening drivetrain vibration. While OE rubber bushings are fine when they are new from the factory, aged and worn out rubber bushings create a multitude of issues that can range from annoying to dangerous. As a factory bushing ages, it begins to harden and become brittle. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow for movement at the differential mounting point. At this point, the differential is free to shift under load causing a noticeable clunking noise under acceleration and deceleration and massively increasing the stress on the driveshaft and axles. Manual transmissions suffer the worst from this as it can make shifting difficult since the differential will shift when the clutch is engaged and disengaged.

By replacing these bushings with full polyurethane, the movement is eliminated since the mounting point is supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. This means less stress on the driveshaft and axles and greater longevity of supporting components.

Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane differential bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved acceleration response, more direct shifting feel and overall improved drivetrain composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings.

The subframe and differential mounting point is the heart of the rear suspension in an E34. When they move, so do all of the rear suspension mounting points. Replacing the stock rubber subframe and differential bushings with UHMW will limit drivetrain and suspension movement and keep your car’s suspension geometry the way it’s supposed to be. They will last longer than the original rubber and do not 'wind up' under load/unload, transferring more power through the axles to the wheels. Recommended for street or race use. Set of 2 subframe bushings.

Fall Line’s mono ball spherical bearing conversion kit transforms the rear suspension feel of the E46 and E36 M3. The factory rubber bushing is very large, and is prone to substantial deflection under load, as the M3 is put through its paces. Deflection of the bushing can create unwanted geometry change, steering wobble under braking, and even hysteresis of the thrust arm.

Poweflex is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension bushings. Using state of the art design and manufacturing, all replacement bushings are engineered to out-perform and out-last the ones that came in the car. Each line of bushings is meticulously tested and then re-tested to ensure perfect fitment and enduring quality through the life of the vehicle. When control arm bushings start deteriorating, you may notice increased suspension noise and steering vibrations. This can make the vehicle unstable during cornering and challenging to handle in regular driving. Such issues can lead to premature tire wear due to misalignment and put extra strain on other suspension parts, reducing their lifespan. Installing new control arm bushings can significantly improve the vehicle's handling and prevent damage to other suspension components, promoting overall durability.

Among the available upgrades, the Powerflex Black Series 21mm Rear Sway Bar Mount Bushing emerges as a crucial component to enhance your vehicle's control and road-handling capabilities. In this article, we'll delve into the myriad advantages of integrating these bushings into your BMW, designed to take your driving experience and performance to the next level. Improved Handling and Stability: Your BMW E70 X5 and E71 X6 are already celebrated for their exceptional handling, and the Powerflex 21mm Rear Sway Bar Mount Bushing elevates this aspect even further. These bushings are meticulously engineered to reduce body roll during cornering, ensuring your vehicle maintains stability and responsiveness, even when navigating tight curves and corners. This enhancement leads to a more confident and enjoyable driving experience. Enhanced Cornering Performance: These sway bar mount bushings excel in optimizing your vehicle's cornering performance. The Powerflex 21mm design offers increased rigidity, allowing for more precise and controlled cornering. Whether you're conquering winding mountain roads or pushing your BMW on a racetrack, you'll benefit from the heightened grip and control that these bushings deliver. Mitigation of Understeer: Understeer is a common challenge for many vehicles, occurring when the front tires lose grip during a turn. Upgrading to Powerflex BMW E70 X5 / E71 X6 Rear Sway Bar Mount Bushings helps counteract understeer by distributing the load more evenly between the front and rear tires. This results in improved balance and control, ensuring your BMW responds accurately to your commands in all driving scenarios. Durability and Longevity: These bushings are meticulously crafted with high-quality materials, ensuring strength and extended service life. They are designed to withstand the rigors of daily driving and spirited performance, reducing wear and tear on your suspension components. This not only extends the lifespan of your BMW's sway bar system but also preserves other related parts. OE / OEM Cross Reference Numbers: 33556772082

If the control arm bushings on your vehicle are beginning to fail, it will become quickly apparent. Suspension noise will be drastically increased, there will be steering wheel shake when hitting road hazards, and the entire car will have an all around loose feel. This can also lead to premature tire failure as alignment is negatively affected. Replace your control arm bushings to give your entire suspension a tighter feel.
