Each baffle is precision laser cut from .090" heat-treated aluminum then hand-assembled and test fit to ensure accuracy and ease of installation. Achilles Motorsports' baffle design incorporates dual trap doors and a unique oil deflector that prevents oil from splashing out of the sump under hard braking. Together, these help minimize the sloshing of the oil inside the oil pan and keep oil accumulated around your pickup tube. The factory BMW oil pan doesn't do a very good job of keeping oil accumulated around the oil pick-up tube in high g-force situations. By keeping oil accumulated around the pickup tube you can eliminate the costly loss of oil pressure and potential damage to other vital engine parts commonly caused by high g-forces from hard acceleration and braking and high-speed cornering. This kit includes a new Genuine BMW Oil Level Sensor and three hex nuts to mount the new sensor to the oil pan. If the mounting stud bolts are also damaged, you will need 3 of BMW part number 07129904544. BMW has eliminated the dipstick in favor of electric oil level sensors located in the bottom of the oil pan. These sensors are designed to monitor both the oil level and oil condition, alerting you when the oil level is too low or the quality of the oil has dropped and should be changed. Unfortunately, like many BMW electrical components, these sensors are prone to failure and can result in improper level and quality readings. If you recently changed your oil and know the readings are incorrect, there is a good chance your sensor has failed. We recommend replacing your oil level sensor, in this case, to ensure you are always seeing proper levels and oil condition. Luckily, this sensor is easy to replace and could save you from potentially catastrophic issues later on.

AAF's M20 oil level block off plate for the E30 eliminates the OEM oil level sensor. On the M20 there is an oil level sensor on the oil pan that can be deleted in dedicated motorsports cars. This will allow you to remove a small bit of weight by getting rid of the oil level sender and associated wiring which goes all the way up to the overhead panel. By deleting the plug what you are also doing is eliminating another point of failure and clutter in the engine bay. Includes: Oil level block off plate Two locking nuts Two washers Shown on pan for reference.
