New for your N54-powered 135 or 335 is our Dual Shear Selector Rod (DSSR) to deliver a more controlled and tighter shifting experience over the factory selector rod. Pair our N54 DSSR with our Double Adjustable Short Shifter for the full upgraded shifting experience. This DSSR is designed for BMW N54 models that have the selector rod p# 25117524722.
Upgrade from your single connection selector rod to a dual shear selector rod or DSSR for a stronger connection and an overall better shifting experience. The factory BMW selector rod is made of hollow aluminum tubing and attaches to both the shifter and transmission from one side utilizing a pin-and-clip design. The factory single-side attachment only has a small amount of surface area contacting both the shifter and transmission selector which relies directly on the connecting pin to do all of the shifting and control, this can cause a loose and/or lackluster experience when shifting gears or shaking your shifter in neutral. Your new Turner DSSR features a much larger contacting surface to both the shifter and transmission, not only does the upgraded DSSR have larger faces contacting your shift components but it also features double the amount of mounting surfaces. This dual shear selector rod hugs your shift lever and selector tight from both sides and eliminates deflection and sloppiness for the best shifting experience possible.
Features and benefits:
Provides an increased shift feel by reducing deflection and play in the linkage.
Works with factory and aftermarket Turner shifters
Manufactured from 303 stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance.
Includes zinc-plated hardware.
Design:
2-piece split design with captive pins
Replacement for 25117524722 (E8x/E9x N54 Cars)
Designed precisely to fit around the confines of the restrictive N54 carrier, clearing all critical fitment areas as you shift through the gears.
Installation:
Note the orientation of your factory selector rod upon removal
Once your factory selector rod is removed, attach the two-piece DSSR to the transmission selector joint and the lower shift lever. Once the two pieces are pressed together, move your shifter to either the 3rd or 5th gear position to give yourself maximum room to install and tighten the supplied hardware.
Product development:
Our shifter components are designed, engineered, tested and quality inspected by our Research and Development team at Turner. Nothing but the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer and rigorous long term product testing.

The 6-speed Getrag 420G transmission, found in the European E36 M3 Evolution and E46 M3, has become an increasingly popular swap amongst E36 owners. Its increased strength, longevity, and overdrive sixth gear make it a great choice for both track cars and daily drivers. Unfortunately, many of the components needed to complete this transplant have become hard to source. Despite increased demand from enthusiasts, BMW has blocked the sale of European E36 M3 parts into North America.
Recognizing this issue, we set out to develop a replacement for the unavailable, 420G-specific selector rod. Like all OEM selector rods, the factory part uses single-shear attachment, allowing for deflection within the shifter linkage. The result? Vague, imprecise gear selections that detract from your overall driving experience. The dual-shear selector rod (DSSR) design spreads the torsional force of gear selections across the selector rod joint, reducing deflection for increased precision. Our dual-shear selector rod is precision-machined from durable 304 stainless steel to further reduce deflection and resist corrosion.
Features & Benefits:
Provides a more positive feel in the shifter by reducing play in the linkage due to minimized deflection Manufactured from 304 stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance and durability Replacement for 25112228055 (European E36 M3 Evolution) Works with the OEM shift lever and OE-style short-throw shifter kits Kit Includes:
