In order to solve this, Active Autowerke has created a full exhaust system for the G80/G82 which comprises this mid-pipe, a rear axle-back valved exhaust and a set of GESI catted downpipes. Together, this remake of the stock exhaust results in a G80/G82 with an amazing sound. You will feel like you are driving a true M-car again. This variant includes a pair of 4.5" ultra high flow GESI catalytic converters that will NOT produce a CEL. The GESi G-Sport Ultra High Output Catalytic Converter features full 304 stainless steel construction, including the substrate. GESi UHO-Series Catalytic Converters are EPA registered and compliant in 49 states and fully OBD2 compliant, perfect for use on 1996 and newer vehicles. To form such a thick blank APEX requires special equipment capable of 10,000 metric tons of pressure. This extreme pressure increases the strength of the aluminum by eliminating porosity and improving the grain structure. Many companies use 3rd-party blanks intended for non-motorsport wheels which can severely limit sizes, concavity, spoke design, and critical brake clearance. APEX designed their very own blank profiles from scratch to give us total control over the final product. One of the most noticeable features of the SM-10RS is its use of side-milling on both sides of each spoke, creating an I-beam effect. Any excess material that doesn’t add strength is carved out using a precision CNC ball cutter. Side-milling is often deemed cost-prohibitive by others, but for true performance without compromise, we believe it's essential. The SM-10RS is not just another style to choose from. APEX used Finite Element Analysis of bending loads to optimize spoke geometry for greater stiffness without increasing weight. The Forged ML-10RT is the answer for enthusiasts craving a wheel design that combines classic motorsport styling with modern monoblock forging technology. This wheel was initially developed in the shadows by one of our Senior Engineers exclusively for his BMW E46 M3 widebody race car, and after sharing photos of the prototypes on social media, we received an overwhelming amount of interest from the community to bring it to market. Just like our existing flagship motorsport designs, the ML-10RT was designed from the ground up by our team of in-house engineers and underwent the same extensive FEA analysis and third party testing. It’s made from the highest grade 10K ton forged 6061-T6 aluminum, and utilizes true motorsport blanks, which is a vital component in our ability to deliver vehicle-specific optimizations like maximum concavity, optimal spoke design and critical brake clearance. The end result is a perfect blend of weight savings, added stiffness and strength, all while staying true to the classic motorsport design language we all love.
