With a strength-to-weight ratio and features typically reserved for forged wheels, the VS-5 pushes the boundaries of flow-formed manufacturing to the max. Weighing only ~2-2.5 lbs more than its forged sibling, the VS-5 isn’t just a top tier option in the flow-formed space, it’s a wheel we consider the last step in performance before leveling up to a forged design. Flow-forming enables us to create high-performance wheels without the price premium of forging. It improves the mechanical properties and grain structure of the barrel, increasing its strength and stiffness, which allows us to use less material and reduce weight. Thanks to our superior engineering, our flow-formed wheels have a higher load rating than some competitors' forged wheels. A critical part of VS-5’s remarkable weight-savings, side-milled spokes also help with its stunning looks. The VS-5 features advanced side-milled spokes that have any excess material that doesn’t add strength removed from the sides of the spokes via precision CNC ball cutter. This process is often deemed cost-prohibitive by others, but for performance without compromise, we believe it's essential. The inner lip is the most vulnerable part of a wheel because it has no spokes for support. Our flow-formed Evolution Line adds more material to this vulnerable area as an added layer of protection against impact from track berms, potholes, and whatever else the road may throw at you.

Wheel Specifications: Wheel Construction: Forged Design: SM-10RS Wheel Size: 19x10" ET12 Wheel Diameter: 19" Wheel Width: 10.0" Offset: ET12 Center Bore: 66.6mm Face Profile: Profile 4 Load Rating: 1,600 lbs Tested By: STL Registration #: STL-AX3-0001 APEX's new forgings weigh as much as 120 pounds before machining. To form such a thick blank APEX requires special equipment capable of 10,000 metric tons of pressure. This extreme pressure increases the strength of the aluminum by eliminating porosity and improving the grain structure. Many companies use 3rd-party blanks intended for non-motorsport wheels which can severely limit sizes, concavity, spoke design, and critical brake clearance. APEX designed their very own blank profiles from scratch to give us total control over the final product. One of the most noticeable features of the SM-10RS is its use of side-milling on both sides of each spoke, creating an I-beam effect. Any excess material that doesn’t add strength is carved out using a precision CNC ball cutter. Side-milling is often deemed cost-prohibitive by others, but for true performance without compromise, we believe it's essential. The SM-10RS is not just another style to choose from. APEX used Finite Element Analysis of bending loads to optimize spoke geometry for greater stiffness without increasing weight. In fact, the SM-10RS is nearly identical in weight to the popular VS-5RS yet almost 10% stiffer, and 25% stiffer than the first generation of forged wheels.

The Forged ML-10RT is the answer for enthusiasts craving a wheel design that combines classic motorsport styling with modern monoblock forging technology. This wheel was initially developed in the shadows by one of our Senior Engineers exclusively for his BMW E46 M3 widebody race car, and after sharing photos of the prototypes on social media, we received an overwhelming amount of interest from the community to bring it to market. Just like our existing flagship motorsport designs, the ML-10RT was designed from the ground up by our team of in-house engineers and underwent the same extensive FEA analysis and third party testing. It’s made from the highest grade 10K ton forged 6061-T6 aluminum, and utilizes true motorsport blanks, which is a vital component in our ability to deliver vehicle-specific optimizations like maximum concavity, optimal spoke design and critical brake clearance. The end result is a perfect blend of weight savings, added stiffness and strength, all while staying true to the classic motorsport design language we all love. The ML-10RT also sports our reinforced Sprint Spec inner lip and a 1600lb (1650lb for Porsche applications) load rating, which is the same lip design and load ratings we use for our popular Forged Sprint Line.
